“Ideally located traditional hotel”

We stayed at this hotel for a concert at the nearby BIC. Its location was perfect. The hotel gives a traditional feel, which we found inviting and comfortable. The floorboards were creaky, and the room was too hot to sleep (but it was a very hot night which would only have been dealt with by air conditioning). We were disappointed that the bar stopped serving food at 8:00 p.m., and the restaurant was expensive if you just wanted a quick meal, although the food was excellent. Overall, we liked the hotel very much and would stay again.

“IMPRESSED OF KENT!”

We received polite, friendly welcome at Reception and adequate explanations about the hotel procedure, car parking, direction to our room etc. The room was on the first floor and extremely comfortable and quiet. We only stayed the one night but would definitely return if the opportunity arises again.

“Great stay!”

Excellent customer care from staff at all times. Nothing to much trouble. Breakfast enjoyable and nice portion size. Would not hesitate to stay there again but maybe next time longer than a night. Ideal location for beach, town and nightlife. Great onsite Cocktail bar with excellent atmosphere.

“fine for short break”

Hotel is a bit old-fashioned but fine for a short stay over the weekend.

“Great Location - Disappointing Quality”

This hotel is perfectly situated in the centre of Bournemouth sitting between the beach and bars. In general, the rooms are spacious, with adequate décor, however the en-suite was of a fairly low standard, with poor water pressure from the shower, and with fluctuating water temperatures. I had stayed at this hotel previously when first renovated, which was a whole better experience. I feel that more attention is paid to the out of room amenities, at the expense of guest comfort. Very disappointing!

“Would Recommend”

Upon late arrival and check-in the service was as expected and a quick check-in was received. The room itself was spacious. One bedside light failed to function and the fan in the bathroom made a rather annoying whistling sound after an hour of being on. The breakfast service was impeccable and we were served straight away. The choice of breakfast was standard. Good location for the BIC which was our reason for staying.

“Good location”

Very close to the water front, 5 min walk. Breakfast was very good! Breakfast staff are friendly and efficient. Check in/check out was also very easy. Parking was ample but just a bit odd to find, entrance to parking is at front of hotel not at the back. Bar So was had a great atmosphere!

“Nice Hotel”

I have stayed in this Hotel 4 times now, and the rooms have always been very nice, but this time my room was on the 3rd floor, the room was very small and only had a shower no bath, i did complain but they could do nothing about it as the hotel was full, but the staff said they would make a note and make sure i was not on this floor next time, apart from that it is a nice Hotel and the staff are very good

“Rooms need updating.”

Whilst the common areas of the hotel, bars, restarant have had money spent on them recently the room that we were in was in desperate need of refurbishment and bringing up to date. Although we were on the 2nd floor noise from the bar (music and chatter) travelled up to us and as the bar did not close until the early hours caused interrupted and restless sleep. The two of us were in a family room so it's just as well we did not have any young kids or this would have been totally unbearable. Overall disappointed with hotel.

“What a shame!”

What a shame! Lovely hotel, great staff, but unfortunately there was a bar with a terrace which kept us up till the early hours of the morning (we were on the second floor). No chance of a lie in either, we had an early morning wake up call (which we didn't ask for) at 7.05. We wern't the only ones to be affected by the noise, another couple also complained on their way out.
