“Noisy and a bit down at heel”
The location is spot on but there are some grotty kebab abd chip shops around the corner, walking into town on Saturday morning was interesting, having to avoid the remains of the night before. Hotel staff were disinterested, didn't even get a thank you when checking out. The hotel has seen better days, chipped paintwork and a bit of a pong in the corridors. The bar was not accessible due to crowds from the Conference Centre over the road, had a poor nights sleep due to the noise. Breakfast was swimming in grease. We were expecting something a bit more classy than this place.
“Niraj N”
Great hotel, Good staff & service. The room was probably the spacious I have stayed anywhere in Europe. The only issue (major for some) is the noise at night from the club below.
“Was perfect for me”
without any hesitation I recommend this hotel
“Good location”
Staff were friendly and polite. Hotel is a 2 min walk to the beach, although the bar is the place to meet with music till late which can be bad if you want an early night. Room a little warm (no a/c) so need window open which wouldn't be a problem apart from the music from the bar!
“best in the area”
Better than expected, even extended my stay. 30 second walk to the beach! Very friendly staff, the best cocktails ever and lovely resturaunt, breakfast fantastic and room was better than expected, even extended my stay! 30 second walk one way to the beach and 30 seconds other way to the town! Reviews about the noise from the bar worried me but i heard nothing (2nd floor) Looked at a few other hotels in the area that i was compairing before travelling and definately made the right decision! If working or visiting bic center ot os opposite, also good location for visiting local shows! Costs around 5pounds in taxi from station!
“Definitely coming back in Summer”
Staff very helpful. Single room's bed according to website (expedia) is "one double/twin bed" but actually only a "single" bed. Only suggestion is for the breakfast (hot) be improved. Not that tasty. Maybe a change in brand will do.
“Would Recommend”
Upon late arrival and check-in the service was as expected and a quick check-in was received. The room itself was spacious. One bedside light failed to function and the fan in the bathroom made a rather annoying whistling sound after an hour of being on. The breakfast service was impeccable and we were served straight away. The choice of breakfast was standard. Good location for the BIC which was our reason for staying.
“Good value, convenient location.”
Exeter is a "British" hotel. Clean, comfortable, courteous and helpful staff, good complimentary breakfast, and importantly, free WIFI. Large room, great "old world" feel to hotel. Had Gym/pool/spa but I didn't get there. Two Bars. Right opposite Convention Centre was great advantage, as was 3 min walk to beach.
“What a shame!”
What a shame! Lovely hotel, great staff, but unfortunately there was a bar with a terrace which kept us up till the early hours of the morning (we were on the second floor). No chance of a lie in either, we had an early morning wake up call (which we didn't ask for) at 7.05. We wern't the only ones to be affected by the noise, another couple also complained on their way out.
“Good Value”
Good value hotel in very good location. Good breakfast. Only problem was the shower didn't work well and room would benifit from air conditioning.
