Pros: Communal areas and garden
Cons: Spend money upgrading all the rooms
Location: Very close to the beach and pier
One VERY much gets the sense that the owners are investing the minimum in this hotel. The communal areas were actually OK but our room was poor by comparison. Speaking to other guest I felt that our room must have been one of the better ones as they had horror stories. The staff we ALL very defensive - almost as if they were EXPECTING complaints at every moment. All I seemed to hear were complaints around me - from check-in to departure, all about the rooms - it must be soul destroying for the staff to work in this environment! One of the check-in staff dealing with a complaint and request to change room tried to blame the poor room on the fact that it had been booked via Expedia (a third party) and that it would have been different if they had booed direct!!!

For what i paid i expected a higher standard hotel could do with refurbishment. It was fairly clean. Room was like a box room. Next time I will stay at the premier Inn.

Great position.!!

Posted 19-Aug-2014
Pros: Easy access to town and beach. Helpful staff.
Cons: The building is very old and dated but has character.
Location: Not sure on attractions as spent weekend in casino and bars.:-(((
Receptionist was more than helpful on arrival. Cleaning staff obviously didn't take any notice of our do not disturb sign on door and walked in on me and my partner in bed.!!!!(sleeping of course) Was a bit jubious on arrival but we were upgraded on arrival to sea view and balcony which was nice surprise, room was a bit fusty smelling but once we had opened windows and put all the plugs in it soon cleared. I would stay again depending in price per night,????

Very disappointing hotel

Posted 18-Aug-2014
Pros: The doormen were friendly - that's it!
Cons: Customer Service, staff having manners, new decor, clean carpets just for starters.
Location: The locations is good as it is on the beach but not close to the night life or the good restaurants or shops.
The staff on reception are short with you, slow and disengaged. The entrance is tired and worn. The room as basic and very tired in decor. The staff (especially in the breakfast room) are rude, short with you and seemed to enjoy bossing people around. Not one table was set for us to sit at and we had to go and find our own knives and forks and coffee pot. There is a look of 'cant be bothered' when you ask for something. It is the most expensive hotel in Bournemouth and I'm ashamed to think people would judge Bournemouth on their service and decor. The only service that was friendly, swift and customer driven was the doormen who park your car for you! I don't argue and I don't complain as many others did, however I will be writing a letter of complaint now that I have returned. The man in charge of breakfast was particularly rude and argumentative. I would rather pay much less money and go to a hotel with good customer service next time. We live and learn and I certainly would not choose that hotel again sadly.

A nice looking hotel with a nice enclosed garden

Posted 15-Aug-2014
Pros: The garden.
Cons: Staff that spoke English and were interested in the people staying there as it's them that ineffect pay their wages. Place needs redecorating .
Location: Bournemouth is a lovely place , plenty to do mini golf , gardens to play in , lovely beach , some fantastic restaurants , wonderful theatre and Bic.
Hotel checking was very poor , room was clean and beds were comfortable. Breakfast was awful service was very poor a complete lack of tables for the amount of people staying there. Bar staff were rude and not experienced in pouring drinks plus their understand of English was very poor. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone and when in shops heard lots of people complaing about this hotel.

Great location and lovely atmosphere

Posted 11-Aug-2014
Hotel was lovely and in a great location, staff were very helpful from parking our car to looking after our bags whilst waiting to check in allowing us to go and have a look around. Bar staff very friendly. Only downfall was that children were allowed in the bar/ lounge until after midnight! Also checkout a little too early at 10am although you can still use hotel facilities all day.

Disappointing Visit

Posted 10-Aug-2014
Pros: The setting and garden at rear of Hotel is lovely.
Location: Excellent Location
Having grown up locally and aspiring to stay at The Royal Bath Hotel from a very young age. I booked a surprise Wedding Anniversary stay for my wife and I, expecting our stay to be memorable and befitting the elegance of the Hotel. Unfortunately our visit did not live up to our expectations including the points below. 1. No instruction when checking in about meals etc, Only concern seemed to be taking money. 2. Room at front overlooking busy Roundabout.(Constant noise throughout night) 3. Room not left clean, sand all over bathroom floor, small towels, room also excessively hot, open windows even more noise. 4. Ordered meal in bar had to wait over 40 minutes, tables not cleaned of dirty glasses and plates. When meal arrived was more like a microwaved meal! 5.Sleepless night due to noise from Road and hotness of room. 6.Went to breakfast at 07.30 only to be told that I had to go to reception to pay, wasn't advised of this before. Had to wait in reception because of a customer complaint. Returned to breakfast even though first in food all rubbery having been on hot plates for a while. All in all a very disappointing anniversary gift to which I cannot recommend anyone staying at your hotel and I would never make a return visit.

Such a shame

Posted 07-Aug-2014
Pros: A member of staff who helped me and apologized for the state of the hotel.
Cons: Don't get me started....
Used to be the best hotel in Bournemouth. Now it's close to the worst.
