Short break at the Royal Bath Hotel, Bournemouth

Posted 27-Mar-2015
Pros: The locality
Cons: Creaky floorboards
Location: Lovely location and easy to get around on the buses. Also near to train staion
This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel for a short break. The room was spacious and comfortable. Ideally situated for those with bus passes and we managed to see the coast from Sandbanks to Lynmouth. The evening meals were very reasonably priced and as the with the breakfast plenty to choose from. We will definitely use this hotel again

Lovely hotel

Posted 26-Mar-2015
Pros: the exceptionally happy & friendly staff.
Cons: Spa changing rooms parking facility - too expensive
Location: On the beach front, town centre across road & also theatre was opposite
Booked & confirmed through expedia for a night prior to my masters exam (single room, no breakfast). Sadly no booking on system on attending. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and happy provided me with a room. Was even given the same rate but for a double room inc breakfast !! Facilities were nice, staff very cheerful and always ensuring comfort and satisfaction were maintained. The spa was okay but the changing rooms were very small and dated . Overall I will be happy to return and will do so in the very near future and have personally recommended to all my friends and work collegues

Pros: the location.
Royal bath is a very nice hotel located very close to the Bournemouth beach and beautiful pier surrounded by loads of options as regards the restaurants and cafes as well as the city center is just around the corner. The close by areas include a beautiful park and an aviary, the hotel itself is very nice which gives a royal Victorian feel with its interiors and floor, the ambiance is great and service is also very nice, all in all a very nice hotel for a short holiday stay,me and my wife loved the stay at royal bath hotel and would definitely recommend this to our friends and family.

Faded Grandeur on the Victorian South Coast

Posted 19-Mar-2015
Pros: The character and grand feel of the place.
Cons: It's very clear that a higher level hotel group could do many wonderful things with this hotel, though the investment would undoubtedly be substantial
Location: You don't really get a better location than this, if you wish to be near the seafront. Lovely gardens too.
I used to visit this hotel back in the day it was a 5 star and it was somethign a little special then. Now, well, it is the same bricks and mortar and same overall feeling of grandeur but less amenities and decor that is need of updating. Nonetheless, in an age when so many hotels are bland and repetitive, this hotel is packed full of character. The rooms are clean and well kept and the staff were very friendly and proffessional. I like it and if you like your three star hotels to come in a five star wrapping, I would recommend it.

Holiday with our dog

Posted 15-Mar-2015
Pros: Clean, welcoming and fairly comfortable
Cons: Double glazing and sound proofing to roadside windows
Location: Close to all amenities, beach, theatres, cinemas and bus transport. Visiting the Russell-Coates Museum next door enhanced appreciation of the hotel.
Interesting stay. Mostly pleasant but our comfortable room deprived us of a night's sleep with the traffic noise approaching and leaving the traffic island just outside, then at 6 am deliveries through the car park entrance beneath us woke us again. Frustrating as we were tired. However, lovely location on the cliff top, close to amenities and the town. The hotel encompassed a brilliant lounge and dining room and relaxing garden. We and our dog were made very welcome

Old hotel near the beach.

Posted 09-Mar-2015
Stayed for 1 night 7th March. Hotel is old and now very run down. I stayed here 10 years ago and it was really good but now owned by Britania and feels neglected. We booked 2 club double rooms, one room which was 117 had no windows at all very dark all though spacious with a large bedroom. You would not want to stay in this room longer then 1 night and that would have to be a last result. The other room 157 had a frosted window which oveooked a sewage/ air conditioning unto and a brick wall. The room was very small and had a small bathroom but internal waste/water system so every time you used the toilet or shower the pump made horrendous notices for 10 minutes. Would not stay in this room again at any cost. Both rooms felt like converted cupboards.

Awful!

Posted 08-Mar-2015
Paid £100 to stay in a dirty room I can only describe as a broom cupboard! Staff didn't help at all. 'Upgraded' us to a different room which had a tiny window which opened up to a dirty alleyway! Door wouldn't shut properly, no hot water in bath or shower! Receptionist didn't offer a refund or any alternative to make up for it. Definitely wouldn't return! Worse hotel and staff in Bournemouth!
