“best hotel in bournemouth!!”

we stay in bournemouth on a regular basis and in our view the norfolk is the best

Area recommendations
bournemouth has good shops, bars and restaurants and the norfolk is situated within walking distance

“Another comfortable but rather tired old Bournemouth hotel”

This hotel epitomises Bournemouth hotels' dilemna - + character and well situated with a lick of newish paint but -need for corpo money and bed 'em in let 'em go. Always worth a return but probably nearer 3 than 4 star by today's standards.

“A bit tired and tatty”

Cannot see why a 4 star hotel and can think only because it is central to the town. Came back to the bar late in the evening to find a group around the flat screen television eating their Take Away Burgers, plus the lighting in the bar/lounge is set at sunlight level so no atmosphere. Needs work in many areas to get it back to the level of presumed luxury it once was.
