The hotel it old and in need of deep refurbishment. It needs painting, the wall paper is peel in off, mismatched carpets in the room, holes in the bedroom wall, damaged sofas in the bar, no barman, poor food but most annoying was that the photos are misleading. Quite happy to stay in a poor hotel if that it the plan but being mislead is another thing.

our stay at hotel Heathlands Bournemouth

Posted 06-May-2015
Pros: Friendly staff and eager to help, food was good.
Cons: maintenance of the hotel
Location: walking distance of town centre and beach if you are fit, we used our car as I was 65 but enjoyed a walk in town shopping.
our stay at the hotel was ok for 3 star hotel decoration good but our bedroom door was sticking, found it hard to open do, this was reported to reception they said they will sort it. staff were friendly and polite,. the food was average for a buffet, breakfast and evening meal. as a travel agent for paycation I would have to pass on our findings to our customers, overall it was good.

You get what you pay for

Budget hotel at a budget price, so fine if you don't need to be at the hotel very long! my main complaint was that the room was absolutely boiling hot, even on a mild day, there seems to be no ventilation, most of the windows are broken and do not open. Cleaning needs to be much better as bathroom was fairly grotty. don't eat at the restaurant

Awful smokey room!

Posted 29-Apr-2015
Pros: The guy on reception was nice who checked me in
Cons: Better rooms. Room 41 smelf of smoke - not good!
Location: great location near the beach
I only paid AROUND £30ish for B&B but for that same money I wouldn't have been put in an old room which stink of smoke. Britannia offer great value rooms that you cant complain about but on this occasion Im afraid it wasn't their best!

Stayed in hotel and it was a nice sunny week was there for 3 days and was ment to stay for a week the problem was the heating. it was 20+ Out side yet they had the radiators on. Told them at reception and they told me the heating was turned of and there must of been a problem with my room so we moved rooms. The next day the heating was on in my new room. Told reception and they tried to move us to another room once again. Told them we had enough and wanted refund for the rest of the week and they refused and we just left. Me my miss's and 3 kids in 1 room with 2 radiators on and it being 20+ outside made it very uncomfortable and unbearable to stay any longer

I had no idea it was part of the well known chain

Although the position is good..the hotel is so tired in every way..the bath produced brown water and it only ran very hot in the shower..I assume that the owners just try to keep it cheap and cheerful in there minds..and concentrate on coach parties..but the hotel is totally in keeping with it's other hotel's in the chain.which in our mind should be avoided at all costs..unfortunately when we booked it did not show on the booking form

Don't book this hotel

Posted 05-Apr-2015
Water in bath was yellow with black bits. Couldn't turn radiator off as switch broken. Left brand new pair of shoes behind, reception and duty manager would not look in room for us . Pretty sure stolen by housekeeping. Surly duty manager and unhelpful customer service line

Good position, pleasant staff, very good value.

Pros: Good value for money
Cons: looking tired in need of an uplift
Staff were very inviting and helpful, room was adequate and clean - though definitely in need of an uplift.
