“Beautiful Hotel”

Stayed here for one night when we went to a wedding - wish we could have stayed longer! The hotel grounds are fabulous, and the room was very comfortable and clean, we even had a little balcony! (although they could have done with cutting the brambles back a bit!) My only complaint was that we couldn't get anything to eat at 4pm - either in the hotel or walking distance. Well it is the depths of Surrey!

“Poor service”

We arrived at the hotel at 1420 in something of a rush, needing to get changed, and go straight out to a wedding. Although check in began at 1400 we were told that there was no room available and that we could use the toilet to get changed in. I found this quite poor organisation for a 4 star hotel, but can accept that circumstances can overrun the best run hotel. What I cannot accept is the attitude demonstrated by the receptionist, she was entirely dismissive, turning her back on my wife and I as we were talking. Indeed she did not apologise for the problem until we had changed, and only then at my wife's prompting. She seemed to view us, and the problem, as a massive inconvenience to be ignored until we went away. A horrible attitude to take.
