"A nice quiet B&B close to the centre of Dorchester"
We had a very relaxing break in Dorchester, staying at the Lantern House. The owners made us very welcome on arrival. The room and facilities there were comfortable. Breakfast was enjoyable and sociable, dining with the other guests. Dorchester is very interesting, providing a range of museums, walks, pubs and eateries. We will certainly return to Lantern House as a base to continue our exploration of the area in the future.
"Cosy country house hotel with exceptional service"
The hotel had lovely atmosphere of an old gentry house with original decor but everything still looking clean and fresh.
The dinner we had in the restaurant was really exceptional, very well presented and well cooked.
The swimming pool was nicely set next to the kitchen garden The water in the pool was a bit hotter then usual in swimming pools and a bit too hot for normal fitness swimming (for my personal liking). The whole place is just designed for full relaxation and this is what we did.

This was a stopover for us and a great choice en route. Room was over the pub and was clean with en suite. Staff was welcoming and the food excellent. Price included breakfast of your choice and had good food for dinner. When booking this b&b be aware that it is situated on the main road. Although not busy at night, the occasional vehicle does seem extra noisy if you like your window open. forget about a sleep in as the morning traffic increases.
"Perfectly agreeable pub with rooms near Weymouth"
I very much enjoyed my one night stay there at a time of being involved with windsurfing at Weymouth. The room and bedlinen were clean, the bathroom likewise. It being a Saturday night there was a gig on in the bar which I went down to listen to and was impressed by the quality of it, particularly the lead singer. Breakfast was just right too.
We had an excellent stay at the Fox Inn. The pub is really cozy and friendly and in a beautiful location. The restaurant is excellent and the breakfast the next day was lovely. Exceptional value and we will definitely be returning!
Buried deep in the beautiful Dorset countryside, The Fox Inn is steeped in history and is famous for its food and accommodation.More
