Hotel is within walking distance to Ti'anmen square, Wangujing shopping district, and lots of restaurants and street food vendors. Room was spacious and comfortable, with a large sitting area. A quiet retreat from a fully day of sight seeing. Staff was friendly and attentive, we arrived early morning, before room was ready, stored our luggage with Concierge, check-in was fast and hassle-free, also helped us with arranging taxi on day of departure.
Hotel was clean, modern and a very high standard. There was some building work taking place on the hotel exterior but that didn't bother us. Make sure you have the hotel name in Chinese if you intend to get a taxi to it since most people in Beijing do not speak or read English. Most of the hotel staff spoke English were very attentive and helpful.

Having a 13 month old daughter we wanted somewhere with good facilities and a central location, Lee Garden had both of these. The apartment itself and the facilities were excellent. We were 2 minutes walk from Wanfujiang where everything was located, shops, restaurants, street food etc. We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment which was a very good size, very clean and had very good facilities, washing machine, kitchen etc.
The hotel does have a swimming pool and play area for children but unfortunately we did not have enough time to take advantage and use these facilities. The staff were very friendly and welcoming except for the lady who greeted us on arrival. She was helpful and efficient but not very warm or friendly. The door men were especially helpful and polite, especially Andy Ma who greeted us on arrival. He was extremely warm and friendly and always went out of his way to help us.
The hotel staff was fantastic. Gave us a detailed map of the city, oriented us to the major tourist sites in Beijing, helped us with taxi rides, checked our departing flight for us and ordered food for us after hours. The hotel was actually a building for Qing Dynasty officials and retains the ambience of older Chinese architecture. That alone makes it worth the stay if you can tolerate being away from another anonymous corporate hotel.
An historical district, Dongcheng is home to a concentration of major sights and treasures including Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City (Palace Museum). To the south, discover Wangfujing Street, a famous shopping boulevard that sees mostly foot traffic only. Here, more than 200 old Beijing brands still reign supreme including the Wuyutai Tea House and Shengxifu hat store.
