“Recommended hotel for short business trips to Doha”

Friendly, prompt service at the hotel and overall with the flight arrangements through Expedia. If there is a complaint, it is about the lack of car parking, even for a short time when friends or business persons came for a pick up, let alone park for a short stay.

“Mercure - scheduled for demolition?”

The Mercure Doha is in an area that is being cleared of all old buildings. THe hotel is not that old, but is starting to look tired. The rooms are small and poorly appointed, and the windows are single glazed which means that the noise from the nearby demolition (24 hours) and the mosque (4:30am) is very evident. However, there is a nice bar and the pool seems OK. The Mediterranean restaurant on the 12th floor is good (didn't try the 2nd floor buffet). OK for an overnight, but not for longer stays.

“What a view!!!!”

Everything about the hotel was of a good standard, eating in was good but a little expensive. Unfortunately it's currently next to the largest building site I have ever seen that is operating 24/7 - The noise of pneumatic drills attached to 16 very large vehicles (foreground of photo) made sleep almost impossible. This noise could only be heard on the side of the hotal where the rooms had balconeys, the other side was ok.
