“Excellent. Just need tea and coffee making in the room would be the only improvement”

“A Doha delight!”

What could be better than a quiet and upscale hotel right next to a terrific souk with its own restaurant row – all within a 10 minute ride from Doha International Airport? This place is a winner all the way around. Everyone on the staff seems to be smiling all the time, and they're a very helpful bunch (a special tip of the hat to Ylene). Be sure to check out the view from the rooftop by day and by night, and don't miss the date treats on the coffee table just inside the entrance.

Area recommendations
The souk adjacent to the hotel is superb, with lots of variety and the merchants aren't pushy at all. It includes a wide variety of very good restaurants, including the remarkable Ishtafan (a Persian eatery that's a treat for the eyes and the stomach). The Islamic Art Museum is just a stroll away along the corniche, and very much worth the walk. Downtown Doha, a mile or so along the corniche in the other direction, isn't as interesting. Far on the other side of town, The Pearl (a huge, still-under-construction shopping/eating/residential complex) isn't worth the effort (yet).

“Unique hotel, good value too”

A great, unique hotel right next to the souq where you can find a plenty of restaurants and cafes. Full of hookah smokers. Also close to the Islamic Art Museum. Although not really historic, it does have a local feel and look to it and is the feel of a small hotel. Opposite end of the city from the West bay which is the business center, so not ideal for business travelers. I like the rooms, the staff, the area, pretty much everything. Nice rooftop area for drinks. I'd definitely stay again.
