Convenient to Disneyland, too good to be true!

Posted 28-Mar-2015
Pros: Evening receptionist was great and willing to do whatever we needed to be comfortable. Bedding and towels were clean. Location was good.
Cons: Seemed to be weekly and monthly occupants. Motel needs complete makeover by professional builders.
Location: Good restaurants and bus to Disneyland near by.
I booked this rapidly after a hard day of travel so I blame it partly on myself. They offered 50% off and I was getting tired of being overcharged on previous nights and decided being it was a Ramada it couldn't be to bad. I misread as it was actually Rodeway... I arrived at Ramada and they didn't have my reservation, they looked at my confirmation and told me I had made it next door at Rodeway. My fears were realized as I arrived to a crazy man telling the receptionist he wanted his room and she politely told him she was going to call the police if he didn't leave. People of varying races hanging over the rails with cell phones watching arrivals. Dirty pool, white stuff in bottom of hot tub, worn out bed, dirt on microwave, coat racks, mildew in worn out shower with no fan, and old room smell. Not enough parking. No coffee in rooms. Ice only by office. Yes, each trip was an adventure. Had breakfast, which consisted of coffee, juice, two cereals, white and wheat bread with 3-4 small tables. I should have left but wife said we were only going to be there at night. No problems but didn't feel comfortable!

Dirty, run down and no parking

Posted 23-Mar-2015
The staff didn't speak fluent and clear english. There was no parking at all and recommended guests to park at a Restaurant down the street. The rooms were dusty, dirty tb and old stained towels.

Great proximity to convention center

Posted 22-Mar-2015
Pros: Close access to everything I needed.
Cons: Parking and internet access. Minor repairs would spruce up the place.
Location: Convention center and Disneyland are within walking distance. There are so many people waling around that I felt safe to walk by myself.
I enjoyed the easy walk to the convention center and local restaurants. The parking is horrendous. I'm surprised they haven't been cited by the fire department. I parked in a stall. By bedtime, spaces were gone and people parked behind all the cars in the stalls, blocking almost every car. The only way to get out was to wake up someone from the office who would knock on the door of the person blocking your car. Would I stay here again? I'm not sure because of the parking issues. I'd have to weigh price vs inconvenience.

Economical and near Anaheim Convention Center

Posted 16-Mar-2015
Pros: The staff was friendly and went out of their way to ensure comfort.
Cons: I'm not sure why we were initially given such an unacceptable room...
Location: Right on the main strip in Anaheim. We walked everywhere - restaurants, Disney, Convention Center, etc.
Hotel is being remodeled. Best part: Staff who will do anything in their power to make you comfortable. First room was unacceptable. Owner provided different room immediately when asked. Second room was comfortable, but no frills. Working fridge and microwave. Very comfortable mattress. No extra pillows, blankets, towels unless you request these. No coffee maker. Pool and spa were well heated and very nice at the end of a long day. Bars on outer windows (back of building) for added safety. Very clean each day after housekeeping.

Sometimes cheap is just...cheap

Posted 15-Mar-2015
Pros: It is relatively close to Disneyland and the Anaheim Resort Transit (ART) has a stop right in front of the motel. Front desk staff were nice.
Cons: Our primary concern was the lack of cleanliness and overall poor maintenance of the room.
Location: One mile walk to Disneyland. Located on the main drag (Harbor Blvd), so there are a variety of restaurants & stores nearby. Near Convention Center.
It appears that this motel is undergoing renovations, so perhaps there will be an improvement for future guests, but our experience was very unpleasant. Our room was musty and smelled of stale cigarette smoke. The beds were hard and very uncomfortable. Bedding was threadbare and ripped in places. Towels were thin, scratchy and stained. Carpet was dirty (we kept our socks on all the time and they got filthy). Walls were dirty and had large gouges in several places. Toilet did not flush properly and had some sort of algae-like scum in the bottom, showing that a toilet brush had not been used in a long time (if ever). There was hair in both the bathtub and sink, and the mirror had not been washed in some time. The bottom of the bathroom door was water-warped and the trim behind the door was completely rotted out (water damage). The shower head had hard water scum on it. The facing was peeling off the front of the dresser. The fridge was missing the dial that adjusts the thermostat, there was no door on the freezer compartment, and the fridge door shelves were unusable because shelf guards were missing. We had to sleep with the fan turned on high all night to (somewhat) drown out terrible street noise. The free breakfast consisted of coffee, juice, dry cereal, some white bread to make toast, and some dry, boxed, convenience-store-type donuts. Parking is very limited; we got lucky because someone happened to leave just as we arrived, but other guests had to park offsite.

Saw 5 live roaches. Checked out early

Posted 14-Mar-2015
I notified the manager of the roach problem. She went to our room to check like if she had to see it to believe it. She asked if I had evidence. I told her I was able to kill 3 of them but disposed of them. Unfortunately, she didn't see any roaches in the 1 minute she checked out room. She offered to move us to a different room. I told her we wanted to check out early and find a new place to stay. She did not offer a refund.

The bed was hard as a rock, and the continental breakfast was horrible, there was holes in the wall and several left over soaps in the shower. The only thing that was good was that the staff was friendly.

Was extremely noisy, they placed us with a room right by the stairs - people were running up and down thru out the night like a stampede.
