If you're looking for quaintness, this isn't your hotel. The Vertigo is high style and may give you vertigo.. The elevator has a glass floor, the wall are painted black and white, the bed is suspended with lights underneath. The large, tiled shower (black, white and gray, of course) is worth a trip. Then there is the bar off the lobby and the pool, steam room and sauna on the lower level. The colored lights in the steam room are a amazing and there are comfy terrycloth robes and slipper provided. This fully-updated, boutique hotel has been carved out of the former Grand Hotel. It's an experience and a half!

Hotel Mercure Clemenceau Dijon is in a nice quiet area close enough to the old town for an easy walk. The staff are very friendly and speak good English. The rooms have been renovated and everything is new, clean and modern with the typical look of a hotel room anywhere in the world. What the hotel lacks in French charm it makes up for it in comfort and efficiency.
The pool area, which is only open during summer months, is large enough for people to enjoy the weather and have a swim or lounge in the deck chairs. The outside restaurant/bar overlooking the pool is also a great area to sit and relax. The bar staff are friendly and accommodating.
We did not eat the breakfast or dine in the restaurant. Both looked appealing.
I would stay here again if ever in Dijon.
Nice, clean, reasonable hotel almost half way between Calais and the Mediterranean. Easy access from the Autoroute de Soleil. Plenty of parking. Only downside is that it is on outskirts of town. Not much around although there is a big retail park about half a mile away with cheap fuel.

Our intention was to spend just 1 night but missed our train. City Loft was very accomodating in renting us another room for our additional night that was already cleaned and larger than our first room. The town is a lovely historic town that we did not plan on visiting, but glad we did.
The renowned mustard is still made here, but Dijon offers so much more. The capital city of Burgundy is also well known for its wine making. Dijon is a walker's paradise, with bustling pedestrian-only thoroughfares to explore, many lined with street vendors and cafes. And with most of its pre-WWII architecture intact, Dijon boasts a spectacular density of Gothic and Renaissance structures.
