“Great location to see the best of Dijon”

Very good location and a nice walk to town. Road works outside the hotel and nearby did cause confusion in driving to the hotel. Staff very courteous and spoke some english. The restaurant was great although rather expensive. Breakfast was average for a hotel of this standard.

“Great hotel, great service”

The Sofitel is located in the heart of Dijon. The entire staff went out of their way to make our stay great. The only drawback to Dijon right now is that the city is building a tram system and many roads are blocked, making getting into and out of town to travel to the wine towns very difficult. The front desk gave us detailed directions which helped immensely. The room was extremely comfortable and the breakfast buffet was wonderful. We would definitely go back.

“Needs updating”

This hotel seems to be living in the past. We would not stay there again. Lift is so old, I wouldn't go in it alone. Our floor (4th) was dark and the room was small and dark although clean. The toilet was tiny and old. The shower was old and water escaped everywhere. The reception area was more modern, but although the receptionists answered questions politely when asked, they didn't go out of their way to be friendly. The bar area was not at all welcoming. We sat outside for a couple if hours one afternoon (the garden is small but pleasant) and no-one ever asked if we wanted any food or drinks. Other tables had glasses on them! We did not eat here as menu seemed very expensive and we fond very good restaurants not far away in the town. We did not have breakfasts even as at 18 euros per person, we thought we could do better outside and we did.

“Good Hotel - Shame about the Tramway”

Good Hotel with excellent services as would be expected. Travelling into the centre of Dijon is a nightmare as they are putting in a new tramway which has turned a substantial part of the town into a building site. Would definately stay at this hotel again.

“Turn off the heat”

I saw this complaint from another traveler, and it happened to me. The heat couldn't be adjusted down in my room. The only recourse was to leave the window open, which faces a busy street. Unacceptable in a hotel of this caliber. Otherwise a great hotel.

“Noisy”

Rooms facing the front of the hotel were extremely warm and because of car and pedestrian noise throughout the night it was not possible to cool the room by opening the window.

“Dijon centre”

The hotel was everything you come to expect in a Sofitel. It is in the heart of Dijon easy to find, across from a beautiful park and close to everything. Inside it is well appointed and the rooms were very comfortable, add that to the very helpful staff and it was a lovely experience. We had a room facing the garden and it was lovely and quiet. It is a large beautiful hotel with the atmosphere of a boutique hotel.

“A lovely hotel in a beautiful city”

The room was very pleasant and the breakfast the following morning delicious with excellent customer service. Our car was promptly delivered to the front of the hotel before we departed and the staff helped us to pack the luggage.

“luxury stopover”

Stayed one night on driving tour. Reception staff friendly and accomodating. There was an error with my reservation, but it was corrected and the room upgraded. Only valet parking is available ...it worked perfectly but was costly at €30 / night. The hotel is on the edge of the main shopping and dining area, but Dijon itself is not the most attractive or interesting city. Pleasant and luxurious reception areas and dining room, but there are also plenty of restaurant options within walking distance. Best / most luxurious beds and linen of our 11 night tour!
