“Some rooms have all the noise”
We have stayed at this hotel before and always had a very good experience. Previous reviews mentioned the noise at the front of the hotel and so we had always asked for a room facing the garden. This time we forgot but the hotel was fully booked in any case as we found when we were there, so it would not have made any difference. So we were given Room 303 at the top and at the front, with thin walls and near the lift. Which meant a lot of noise - from the street, lift and guests in the neighbouring room. And no possibility to change, so not a lot of sleep! Not sure if we'll go back, but the motto is Insist on a garden facing room!
“Beaune - Heart of the wine region ....”
The hotel is located on the edge of the town, ideal both for visiting the local vineyards and a wonder around the town. The hotel building itself is old but very clean and well maintained. The restaurant is good but so are the restaurants within walking distance. The staff are very helpful and speak perfect english - which helps when I can speak only a little. A good central base to visit the vineyards of Burgundy.
“Beautiful Beaune”
We stayed at the Hotel de La Poste for 5 nights. The room we were given was at the front of the hotel and main street. So, street noise was a factor. We asked for a different room, and were prepared to move us, but not to the back of the hotel. Our room was small, but very clean, and with an excellent reappointed bathroom. The hotel is just outside the walled city. We didn't have a car, but saw that parking was available. The hotel restaurant was outstanding - had a terrific dinner there. The hotel was quite lovely with a lot of character. As it was not in the main center of Beaune, we were away from the action. The bar didn't have any entertainment, so a little quiet in the evening. The staff were very accommodating and welcoming.
“good experience”
amazing location, just steps from all the old town attractions
“Spectacular Beaune”
Had a wonderful stay at Hotel de la Poste. Perfect location just across from the town's wall. Much better than being inside because of ease of access driving is very difficult inside the wall. Within a couple of minutes of every beautiful site Beaune has to offer and easy to find. Just go around the wall and you will find it. There is payed parking or if you are lucky you can get a spot in front of the hotel and park for free. It is a lovely hotel with comfortable rooms and decorated with pictures from the past. Highly recommend the restaurant Le Petit Paradis across from the Musee des Vins. It is a tiny spot but we have one of the most memorable lunches of our trip (and we ate at 2- 3 star restaurants)
“My hotel in Avignon”
Great location in Avignon, right on the town plaza. Park in the Palace de Papes Garage and it is just a brief walk to the Hotel de la Poste. We left a bag of purchases behind and when we called they had the bag and even read us the inventory to make sure everything was still there. They promptly mailed our purchases to our U.S. address, a pleasant surprise.
“nice service, good location”
We only stayed for one night, but the experience was very pleasant. The staff at the front desk were all very helpful and they watched out bags and allowed us to keep our car in the hotel's covered parking area beyond our checkout time. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. We do think their bedding could have been of better quality given their 4 star status. The blanket under the nicer coverlet was the type found at a roadside motel. The breakfast was great, but expensive. Overall, the great service and convenient location made for a nice stay.
“A very pleasant experience.”
The hotel is ideally situated, in the historic section. It is set on nice grounds, the rooms have been very well renovated, preserving nice architectural elements. Ours was very quiet with a nice view of the surrounding vineyards. The staff was very pleasant and helpfull.
“Other than not having air conditioning (which we needed the first day), we absolutely adored the roo”
We would go back in a minute! Especially appreciated the covered parking for our car. After the first day, the temperature cooled down, and we loved sleeping with the windows open.
“Great hotel, great location”
What a wonderful experience! Hotel staff were terrific; private parking in the garage with my name on it, great breakfasts, Herald Tribune every morning. Room was large, bright and comfortable. Staff went out of their way to make sure that we were happy...this despite having several groups in the hotel. Location is just about ideal, on the ring road around central Beaune. Restaurant was good and service was very good. I would return without hesitation.
