“Good budget Guest House...”

This was a nice place to stay with a very helpful and friendly owner. They went above and beyond to make my visit enjoyable. It is a Guest House and not a luxury hotel so keep that in mind when booking. It not a backpacker type place, but facility wise my room was basic and came with cable. A window unit AC which was a little noisy, but I am a sound sleeper it did not bother me. The bathroom had hot water in the shower which is my main concern with budget places. The room had a small kitchenette with stove(w/pots & pans), full fridge & dishes. The only major drawback is that you have to take a car everywhere since there are not any restaurants or activities close, but they have a good driver available that can take you and pick you up. He is honest, safe driver and his fares are very reasonalbe. There are buses & local taxis but they are only for the adventurous. I would definitely stay there again if I could not find a vacancy closer to downtown Port of Spain. It is defintely a good place to stay if you are there for an extended time since the price was half of what most other places charge and there is a store around the corner. Also, the Guest House is located inside a gated neighborhood with security on duty at night so it is very safe. There is basically only one road from the neighborhoods and the airport into Port of Spain so traffic is a nightmare at commute time so if you want to go somewhere keep that in mind especially when travelling to and from the airport.
