A lovely working farm retreat

Posted 28-Apr-2015 on Hotels
Accommodation is on a working farm, so getting there can be a little tricky if you are not used to the narrow country lanes/tracks and pot-holes. Once you arrive, the view is beautiful and you receive a very warm welcome from the owners Robert and his wife Jan. Breakfast is very good, room is spacious and well equipped. They recommend a couple of local places to eat if you decide to venture out for an evening meal. I mananged to find a very good place who will deliver and their food was very good. If the weather is warm, you can sit outside in the garden but if not then there is only the dining room which is not really ideal for relaxing in the evening so there is only your bedroom which can feel a little isolating if you are on your own as the family remain in the private part of the house in the evening which is understandable. It was lovely to see all the farm animals up close and the new baby calves were being born while I was there. It is an ideal retreat away from the busyness of town and you get a real taste of country/farm life.

Lovely English country b&b

Posted 23-Sep-2014
We had one night at Yeos Farm, greeted by their gentle dog. Owners weren't home but left a key to let ourselves in & when we met them later were very welcoming. The ensuite room was big, clean & very comfortable. Breakfast was also great. A visit to the Manor Inn for dinner in the nearby village of Ashton is also highly recommended!

Get away from it all location.

We have previously stayed here and enjoy the quiet location. This is a working farm in the Devon countryside with lovely views and very friendly hosts and a hearty breakfast. A few miles from Exeter but a small number of pubs with food a car ride away. Fridge and toaster supplied in dining room if you want to have a tipple watching the sun go down.

Beautiful location, however it is a number of single track lanes to get there. Very friendly and helpful inn keepers. Great breakfast. Enjoyable to walk the 240 acre farm. Convenient to other local sights in Devon.

Yeos Farm Guest House

Posted 22-Jan-2012 on Hotels
The guest house is in fact the farmhouse of a working farm. The room was very clean and comfortable. If you wanted to have an evening meal though, you had to drive 2.5 miles to a local pub/restaurant. The farmer and his wife were very pleasant and breakfast was excellent.
