The stay was fantastic. Marilyn was a great host and the B&B was clean, tidy and thoroughly delightful.

Absolutely remarkable
We normally stay at a different B&B, just outside of Totnes. Have done so for years ... but this time, the place was fully booked. So a quick search revealed The Old Parsonage, and we booked three nights there. To say that it was a most remarkable B&B is to badly understate our experience. It is truly wonderful ... in every way. The house is gorgeous ... the bedrooms, the dining room, the lounge ... just perfect. Very grand! And the welcome was beautiful. The wonderful proprietor immediately made us feel completely at ease and at home. How fortunate that the "other place" was fully booked ... we have discovered a true gem ... a place of absolute comfort and repose. Thank you, Marilyn.

Highly recommended
Beautiful place in the country yet 10 minutes drive from the nearest town. The host is very friendly and always asks guests' requests e.g. breakfast etc). Highly recommended.

Beautiful room, very comfortable bed and good bathroom. Marilyn, the owner was so welcoming and friendly. We had absolutely everything we wanted and would recommend staying without hesitation.

Absolutely faultless, the host was wonderful and incredibly friendly, the room was spacious and immaculate. Plus the breakfast was first-rate. I wholeheartedly recommend this place if you are ever in the area.

Old Parsonage Bed and Breakfast
The bed and breakfast was wonderful. Clean comfortable room,king size bed , and a power shower. A great breakfast was included in the price. Marilyn the friendly hostess was really helpful in making suggestions for local activities. We wished we could have stayed longer and can strongly recommend this accommodation.

We enjoyed our stay at the Old Parsonage enormously. Marilyn is a wonderful hostess and makes everyone feel really welcome. The house is beautiful in a lived in, homely way and we felt really relaxed. This is our favourite hotel!

Nice B and B
We had a very enjoyable weekend. Would have been more comfortable to have an easy chair in the room rather than a kitchen chair. Hostess very accommodating and welcoming. Breakfast very enjoyable and set us up for the day. Would definitely recommend The Parsonage.

We had just a single night stay and were made to feel very welcome. The room (Ross Room) was very clean and comfortable with dual aspect views over the gardens and countryside behind. A charming B&B with a host that makes you feel welcome.

As good as it gets
The Old Parsonage is a place of character, furnished with exceptional taste and providing comfort and cleanliness of the highest standards. The owner is an exceptional hostess and breakfast with home-made bread and amazing fruit salad matures into "full English" or your choice to sstart the day. Don't miss it.

Luxurious hotel with large ground, food marvellous
Very welcoming owner of house whose standards are as high as anyone would wish for. Bed perfect with quality spacious en-suite. Large peaceful grounds with many roses! Buses go to Totnes and Dartmouth from nearby. Parking ample in grounds.

Couldn't have asked for a nicer stay - great host who really went out of the way to help! The house was lovely, the food was great. A little out of the way but that was nice - and still really handy to lots of great food and sightseeing opportunities.

Ideal stay
We were met at the station after a overnight flight and train ride and welcomed with tea and biscuits. It just got better and better. Our Ross Room was large, bright and comfortable. Sheep on the hill in the backyard and the town at the the front gate. Breakfasts were made to order and could be anything you wanted. (Fresh eggs from her own chickens). My husband mentioned a special kind of yogurt and there it was the next morning. Marilyn, the owner, is what made our stay special. She has a easy grace and makes everyone feel comfortable and interesting. We were in town for a wedding and our stay here is what made this trip! This part of England is strikingly beautiful. Visit, if you get a chance.

Lovely welcome
I received a lovely warm welcome, despite my arriving quite late at night. The B&B was not very easy to find in the dark as the entrance is very dark and narrow and could perhaps be better lit with brighter signage. The landlady was very hospitable and sociable and made you feel at home. My room was spacious and clean but a little cold. The bed was incredibly comfortable with warm bedding. The power shower was great. Breakfast was excellent. Good to have such fresh eggs from the chickens in the garden. It was a little expensive and was also a little noisy from the traffic as I didn't realise the B&B was located on the main road as you wouldn't have guessed from the picture on the website. Landlady was very helpful and also arranged to book my table for dinner at a restaurant in the evening.

Old Parsonage, Totnes
What initially made our decision of where to stay close to Totnes were the pictures of the rooms - they looked good on the webpage, but were better in realty. It was also possible to book the particular room that we wanted, which was the on with the largest-looking bed - and it was large in reality. The Old parsonage is a lovely building, well-done up, with a walled garden to one side, close to many of the local facilities, and not far from Dartmouth etc. On top, the breakfasts were huge, with eggs from the hens kept in the garden, and local produce - filled up for the rest of the day! We will certainly return.

Great renovate Parsonage with a fantastic host
We picked this B&B randomly as a stopping off point on the way to Cornwall. While some external renovations are still in progress, the house itself was beautifully done up. The rooms were well appointed and equipped and very comfortable. Marilyn was a fantastic host - we ended up having an unexpected and fun evening sitting outside with her and other guests.

Lovely stay in a beautiful building. The rooms were luxuriously furnished and spotlessly clean. Our bathroom was amazing - huge with a big white roll-top bath! Our hostess was welcoming and so friendly. She made us feel relaxed and that nothing would be too much trouble.

A very comfortable B&B with high quality products- from bathroom soaps to the full freshly cooked breakfast with a choice of eggs from the chickens and ducks in the garden. Overseen with warmth by a delightful and mildly eccentric Texan lady who has lived 21 years in Devon.
