Very poor hotel

Posted 30-Aug-2014
Pros: Very little or nothing apart from leaving
Cons: See above. I am sorry to say that there are many areas where there is an urgent need for improvement
Location: Torquay is very pleasant with lots to do, including things for kids and old alike.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The plumbing is, by their own admission, not up to standard and there are various other problems, including a sauna that is never switched on, a rusting jacuzzi, lots of traffic noise, old and dated bedrooms, mediocre breakfast, lack of car parking spaces. The list is endless and it is little wonder, therefore, that it was selected for a TV programme on 'sub standard' hotels. There has since been a change in ownership but, judging by our experience, little has changed in practical terms.

Absolutely fantastic staff

Posted 03-Jun-2014 on Hotels.com
For the three days, two nights of our stay, the hotel was absolutely fantastic! the staff 10/10 for their time, patience and help. The food was absolutely delicious and catered for my young, disabled son who is a fussy eater. The Family room was great, clean, spacious and wow! Pleased with all of it. Even the indoor and outdoor pools met our expectations. Will be going again!! And would recommend to any!

Grosvenor hotel

Posted 30-May-2014 on Hotels.com
The Hotel whilst clean and tidy was very tired and the breakfast was ok but the few staff were overrun and this meant you were waiting far too long for service. It also would have been a lot better if the jacuzzi worked. I have stayed in a lot better not many worse.

Our stay at the Grosvenor Hotel

Posted 27-May-2014
Pros: The hotel was clean and tidy and all the staff were first class
Cons: The room overlooked the main road and was therefore quite noisy, double glazing would improve this.
Location: The hotel was very close to the town and the beach, the extensive park was next door., as was the conference centre, my reason for being in Torquay.
On arrival the staff were helpful and friendly and this continued throughout our stay

Pet friendly hotel in a great location

Posted 10-May-2014 on Hotels.com
Limited facilities. Hotel in need of a redo/makeover. But, fantastic staff and the fact that you can leave your pet in the room whilst you're out for lunch/dinner/visiting the dog-unfriendly-beaches, means that this hotel came out top for us. Extremely friendly & helpful staff - they go out of their way to help.
