Great location

Posted 30-Sep-2014
Pros: Great helpful staff, large comfortable clean rooms, good food and service.
Location: Very central to the centre of Exeter but also close to the train station. Convenient.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I was only in town for one night and needed a handy reliable place to rest myself. The locale was warm and the beer and food allowed me to enjoy all of my meals in Exeter at the Hotel.

Convenient for City Centre

Posted 14-Sep-2014
We had an excellent one night stay in this hotel, en route to Cornwall. It was very convenient for an evening walk into the city, and the rooms were very comfortable. Staff were most helpful and accommodating.

cheap hotel in city centre

Posted 15-Aug-2014
Pros: Location? Price?
Cons: Cleanliness, decor and attention to detail.
Location: City centre. Lots to do.
I had read previous reviews so I wasn't expecting a lot really. The stairs leading from the pub were very grubby and the carpet had several stains on it. The room itself was fine - decor very tired though - chipped paint, what looked like grease marks on the the walls. The bathroom was servicable - mascara stains on the wall near the sink and the inside of the shower curtain not very clean. It also had a stale smell to it. There were old paper napkins left on the desk in the bedroom which was a bit gross. Bed was definately on the firm side but some people like that. As a cheap hotel I suppose it was fine, but I wouldn't want to spend any more than one night there. We didn't stay for breakfast so I can't comment on that.

City Centre hotel

Posted 10-Jul-2014
Pros: It was central and the member of staff who checked us in was very helpful and professional. The rooms were quite stylish, bed large & comfortable
Cons: The cleanliness of the carpets, the bathroom needed some deorating and a clean shower curtain. Should have 2 bedside lamps
Location: Good carparks nearby & Los Iguanas restaurant open until late & very pleasant & hospitable
Only spent one night here on the return from Brittany Ferry arrived late but managed to find a nearby restaurant which was willing to serve 4 people at 10pm

Nice Building, mainly good service

Posted 03-Jul-2014
Pros: The building, the garden.
Cons: Customer service from one individuall
Location: Exeter Central has lots of nice shops, restaurants, lovely Cathedral - nice to potter about.
Pleasant stay for business. Young staff on desk were professionally friendly. However older man on check out was surly to the point of rude. Disappointing.

Great central location, friendly staff

Posted 15-Jun-2014
Location: Right in the centre of the city. Very close to the high street, shopping mall and train station. Numerous restaurants nearby.
Had a great stay at this very friendly hotel. The staff were all very polite and helpful. It is located a 2 minute walk from the high street and nearest train station. The room looked modern. Bed was big and very comfortable. The room was large and likewise the bathroom. Very good value, would recommend.

Close to city centre

Posted 12-Jun-2014
Pros: Staff. Water feature in beer garden. Proximity to centre.
Cons: Carpets could do with a clean, especially the stairs.
Location: Walk to quay, cathedral and shops very close by.
A good overnight stay, very comfortable beds and crisp bedding with an air conditioning unit in the room. Nice toiletries and room facilities. Very nice old pub, with a beautiful courtyard and rear garden, enjoyed a G and T in the evening sun, very chilled and relaxing. Staff were friendly and customer care was good. Parking not available but car parks nearby, but costly. Didn't try food or breakfast.
