Pros: Friendly, helpful staff, good food and drink available on site, very comfortable room. And a courtyard with a nearly 2000-year old Roman wall!
Cons: If you are on the second floor, the stairs can wear you out. A lift would be a nice improvement.
Location: Great location, near city centre and major tourist sites such as the cathedral and the Royal Albert Museum.
We stayed there for several days while visiting family history sites and tourist attractions. Very comfortable, well-located hotel.

Adequate, but nothing special

Posted 21-Mar-2015
Pros: The younger staff members seemed very keen.
Cons: The room could do with some tlc. Better heating in the room would have helped.
Location: Exeter museum (not open Monday) and Exeter Cathedral are both well worth a visit.
I was disappointed by my stay. The room was adequate but tired ( chipped paint, missed curtain ties and dust you could write your name in). The room was very cold and despite the heater the room never got above 17 degrees. Breakfast was pleasant but the staff did get my order wrong one day. The hotel is on a main road but it actually very quiet.

Very tired, needs a lot of TLC.

For the price with no breakfast it was rubbish. Main thing it had going for it was the location.

Stayed with the family in 2 rooms while we checked out the university. The hotel is very handy for the town centre and the quay area and a short drive to campus. Staff were very friendly, check in and out was efficient, breakfast was very good as was the beer! It is a 3 star city centre hotel tho' so bear that in mind.

Great location and staff but looking tired

We checked in for the night ,room 12. as had arranged to meet friends for a few drinks. Staff were faultless and the room was a good size and no noise given the city centre location. Bed comfy but room starting to look dated, light fittings in bathroom dropped from ceiling, broken towel rail , hole in bathroom wall where door handle bangs against it,missing curtain hooks so drapes look saggyA few hours from a local Handyman would improve things considerably.

Pros: The best was the very big comfortable bed, after a very long day of travel it was great.
Very nice, even whenI arrived pretty late the staff made me feel welcome. Gave me very useful information to make my experience great.
