Convenient for visiting Exeter

Posted 20-Jun-2015
Pros: Location
Cons: It was obvious that we had been given a room with no aircon, as staff provided a fan immediately upon our arrival and did not seem at all bothered at
Location: Exeter City and cathedral
Perfect location for our first visit to Exeter and to attend a special family event Unfortunately our room was not ready when we arrived at 2.40 - it was still being cleaned? We received the room key at 3pm and as we had to be ready to leave at 3.45 this was not perfect. More to the point the air con did not work and it was stifling in the room, staff were unable to remedy this and provided a fan, we were told that nothing could be done until the next day. After a very uncomfortable night we had to change rooms next day. Apparently no compensation could be given as we did not book directly with Hotel, this is a very poor show all round

Good hotel.

Easy check in. Ample car parking. Restaurant next door was very convenient. Room was a bit cramped, but it was fine for our 2 night stay. Breakfast was good and better than expected. All in all a good experience.

Air conditioning unit leaked water all over my belongings. Duty manager emptied unit into bucket. Leaked again 2 hours later. Other guests rowdy and noisy. Terrible

Nice hotel ideal location for crealys adventure park we were visiting and it 40min from Torquay. Only downfall was there was no resturant on site but there was a fee takeaways and a brewers gayer resturant a 5 min walk away

move away from room 150

Posted 08-Apr-2015
Pros: Car Parking. Attitude of staff. Location is good. Cleanliness Of room and hotel generally. Quiet except room 150 which is a disabled room.
Cons: Delivery. Drivers to be quiet. Adjust speed of lift doors. Reconsider drinks prices perhaps more people would then use the bar facility.
Location: Exeter City historic locations. Exeter quay. Ex mouth beach
Room 150 very noisy toilets flushing noisy people above and next door. We were moved to the upper floor. Everything was fine in this room apart from the delivery vehicle driver banging crates and his load outside our room at 6am. !! Bed was comfortable we had to ask for another soft pillow. Bathroom and shower were clean and very good pressure. The lift is painfully slow to open and close its doors !! Price of two small bottles of water is extortionate , also Baileys drink is only available as a double measure at £5.35 Bar prices appear to be expensive. Breakfast was acceptable but sausages were quite fatty and tasteless.

Handy for motorway links

The location of this hotel was very suitable for our needs. However it is a no frills standard chain hotel used by a lot of business people. Our room on the second floor was reasonably quiet. The mattress was springy and dipped a little in the middle but there was a choice of hard & soft pillows. Breakfast was basic but adequate. It is ok for a 1 or 2 night stay.
