Friendly Staff - Great Hotel

Posted 18-Nov-2014
Pros: Everything
Cons: Bigger beds
Visiting family in the area with my seven year old son. We were able to use their plates etc in the evening when we ordered a takeaway. Each morning the reception staff acknowledged us as we walked to the breakfast area. There was plenty of parking spaces in the car park. Everyone worked really hard, especially the breakfast staff, my son could not believe how quickly our plates were cleared away. Will stay there again.

There on business

Posted 09-Nov-2014
Pros: Nearness to the office
Cons: Breakfast quality, it's ok but not good
Location: Too far out for Exeter itself but if you just want somewhere to crash it's ideal. The Barn Owl does very good food.
It does what it's supposed to do, it's clean and reasonably comfortable in a basic sort of way. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

Easily accessible stop off

Posted 05-Nov-2014
Pros: Convenient location
Location: we used it to be close to our destination the following morning
Very close to M5 J29 with plenty of parking available both when we arrived about 2pm, and much later on. Pub across car park does excellent food and Doombar and Tribute draught ales.Rooms were quite compact, pull out bed was just about ok for two youngsters 6 and 8, but only just. Breakfast was good enough, limited selection (beans, eggs and sausages in the hot domes) bread and pastries, yoghurt and cereals, but something there for most.

Pros: Near to M5
Cons: Nothing much. Simple
Location: Nice restaurant, retail park and offices
Simple hotel if you just need an overnight sleep. Clean room, friendly staffs and no problem.

Same About The Breakfast

Posted 15-Sep-2014
While the hotel represented good value for money, and the staff were very helpful and efficient, the inclusive buffet-style breakfast left a lot to be desired. The cold selection (a choice of cereals, breads, fruit, muffins, etc.), was OK, but the hot items selection was very limited. The choice was poor-quality sausages, baked beans and reconstituted scrambled-egg powder. The milk and fruit juices (the latter being exceedingly diluted) were dispensed from a machine. Additionally, the limited amount of available tables meant you had to get your timing right. I appreciate that if the Holiday Inn Express improved this aspect of the hotel, they would probably need to increase their rates, so take the breakfast for what it is, or eat somewhere else.

Thank you for taking the time to share your review of your recent stay with us in Exeter. I am pleased to read that you found your stay good value for money and you found the team here helful and efficient. We offer an Express Start breakfast to all our guests. This includes a wide range of contintal items and 3 added hot options of scrambled egg, sausages and baked beans. This breakfast is all included in our room rates and is very popular with our guests. Our Guest Service team are able to provide our guests the information of when we expect the busiest periods to be and of course we will open up our additional space to ensure each guest can enjoy our breakfast. Thank you so much for all your feedback, we appreciate all our guests comments and use this to improve the service we deliver to our guests. I hope we can welcome you back again soon. Close to where we we were going

Posted 08-Sep-2014
Overall the staff and hotel are excellent however the quality of food and drinks provided for breakfast represented poor value for money. The "Orange drink / juice" was nothing more than orange flavoured water and the coffee wasn't a lot better. FYO they do not serve bacon with cooked breakfasts only scrambled eggs beans and sausage. Given the price paid for the room (£128 ), I would choose a Premier Inn in the future but only because of the quality of their breakfast.

Thank you for taking the time to share your review regarding your recent stay with us in Exeter. I am sorry to read that you felt our breakfast was poor value for money. The Holiday Inn Express hotels offer an Express Start breakfast to all our guests, this has a wide variety of continental items and 3 hot options of scrambled egg, sausages and baked beans and our coffee machines dispense Kenco coffee. All of these items are included in all our rates so there are no hidden charges. I appreciate the time taken to share your review and I value your feedback. I hope we can welcome you back again. Overnight stay en route to Cornwall.

Posted 06-Sep-2014
Pros: It's location from the motorway m5.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: The pub next to the hotel has poor food reviews. We ate there, realised very soon it wasn't great and read afterwards the feelings of past customers.
An overnight stop en route to Cornwall for myself, my wife and our young daughter. The room was clean and spacious and quiet. All round a great stay.

Good package for a couple of nights.

Posted 01-Sep-2014
Pros: A kind of all inclusive, its a good package for the money.
Cons: Wifi and access to it, heating is pitiful
Location: Near motorway and airport, also very close to park and ride. Exeter is a very nice city.
You get what you pay for, the wifi is very weak and fiddly to access.
