Clean & great location
The staff is very friendly and helpful, made us feel very welcome. They were very flexible on the check in and check out. We chose this place because it had a family room and of its location. Only 5 mins to the beach and main food street. The downside is the parking is not available but there is a paid parking storey opposite so was fine and we enjoyed our stay!!

It was from you walk to the doors to you checked out! The stay was really great! the beds, toilet, outside area and the breakfast was very very nice!

Great place to stay.
Very comfortable stay for a family with small kids. The owners gave us a very friendly welcome, and help throughout our stay. Definitely recommend staying here. It's in a good location. There are no noisy bars or pubs nearby, yet it's only a short walk to the beach, parks and harbour.

Devon Heaven
Visited Paignton for the annual BMAD motorcycle festival. On arrival at the guest house Richard the owner greeted us with a smile and even help me manoeuvre our motorbike into the front terrace to avoid the pitfalls of the towns somewhat draconian parking regulations. There is a multi-storey car park just around the corner if you are unfortunate enough to have a car! Our room was spacious, tastefully furnished and spotlessly clean. The mattress was a foam type (no springs) which I've never tried before and it was a revelation - so comfortable and supportive. The en-suite was a little small, but was again spotlessly clean and did what is said on the tin - and the water pressure in the shower was superb. Even though the Devon is only a 3 or 4 minute walk from the pier and there was a fun fair in full swing until late in the evening, the double glazing did its job and kept the room nearly silent. There is a small but attractive and well kept park just a few yards away from the front door which was perfect for a stroll before breakfast. And breakfast was a welcome reward for the returning stroller. The Full English was cooked to perfection, Clare (the co-owner) served us with care, enthusiasm, friendliness and just the right amount of charming eccentricity to make getting up in the morning something to relish. Great coffee, seemingly endless supplies of fresh toast and the most gorgeous homemade (really!) jams and marmalades rounded off a faultless start to the day. Great.

Nice family room
A nice guest house, very close to sea front. Parking not on site but very close by. Fairly basic but room modern and clean, a decent breakfast and very close to the beach and park. Overnight stay with a four year old and a two year old and would happily recomend to others.

Central location but away from the noise.
Service was friendly and very accommodating. The room was decorated to a nice standard and the bed was comfortable enough for one nights sleep. The only downside with the room was that the curtains did not block any light from the very large windows. This meant our room was very bright at 6am.

Quadruple means four or so we thought
We were massively disappointed that a quadruple room turned out to be an average sized room that had a double and a single with a put me up bed. This was at very best a room for three certainly not a room for four and the shower room was the smallest I have ever seen.

Will be staying again easily the best guest house in town, extremely welcoming to whole family from the moment we arrived felt like being invited into their home. The owners are great and nothing was too much for them they did everything in their power to ensure a great stay. In the room everything felt of the highest quality from furniture to towels, shower was perfect, whole place was decorated with a real feel to suit the building aesthetics, and breakfast had an fantastic locally sourced full English. The location is fantastic for anyone visiting paignton or local attractions just a stones throw from the beach front. Cannot say enough good things about his place and the genuinely kind & caring people running it.

Excellent all round, stones throw from beach
Had an excellent stay at this Hotel, I couldn't fault the Hotel or the service. The rooms and linen were clean, the quality of the furniture was excellent including the beds. The breakfast was also excellent as the ingredients were fresh, well cooked and all sourced locally. The staff were very friendly and made us feel at home, will definitely be returning for a longer stay in the near future.

Room was fine however en-suite was horrendous. It was so small you struggled to dry yourself when you got out of the shower. 3rd day in we didn't even get milk for drinks in room topped up so when we returned we couldn't make a drink. We were only once asked at breakfast if we would like more toast and never asked if we wanted more tea or coffee. No parking which we didn't realise when we booked but the owners did pay for offsite parking. The couple that run this B&B are very friendly but I don't think we'd stay again. With a few changes this place could be fabulous.

It was centrally located close to most of the places we visited so we were happy. The owner was very nice and friendly and in general the service is excellent. We stayed 2 nights and we have room 3 and the only negative I can say is that our mattress was not very comfortable, it dipped in the middle probably because the spring has gone so my partner did not have a goodnight sleep.

This b&b looked fresh and modern compared to most of the other accommodation in the area. Owners were friendly and helpful. Our room on the second floor was quite spacious and bathroom had charming wooden panels on walls like a beach shack. Plenty of hot water from the shower! Everything worked - plugs, lamps, toilet etc. The bed was a bit too soft and boucy for our taste.

The room totally lacked facilities for storage. The bedroom consisted of a low double bed, a dining chair and three small shelves, one held kettle & team making requirements, the other two were by the bed head. There was an adequate wardrobe, but nowhere to put things down other than the floor. The bathroom was a good size but the shower enclosure was too small (shower very good) but shower curtain approx 100 mm above rim of shower tray, letting water splash out which ran across the sloping floor! The wash hand basin was literally big enough to wash a hand in. You pumped your head on the shelf above the basin if you washed your face. A towel rail next to the shower would have been handy.

I requested that one of the nicest rooms was made available for our stay which i imagine went unnoticed as we were given a small room with a view or someone elses house and no acknowledgement made of the request. I only asked because i saw from previous reviews someone had done the same thing and got put into a nicer/bigger room. The bathroom was very small and sink so small i could hardly fill the kettle. Mattress was very soft but that's a matter of choice. Was told breakfast was served between 8am-9am, just a 1 hour window, for a b&b on the pricier side, is a bit cheeky in my opinion, would have expected 8am-10am at least! Who wants to be up at 9am when they're on holiday!? Upon checking out, the owners said that we could have come down later after all as other parties arrived at 9.30am etc...disappointing as we weren't to know this and thought the times weren't flexible so we missed out on our b&b rates. On more positive notes, the location is great, hotel is clean and has everything you need within the room. Can come and go as you please. Was just slightly disappointed in the room size and the breakfast service options.

Lovely quaint hotel close to the beach
Usually when I visit my hometown I stay with my parents. Since this time I was with my my mother-in-law I decided to go for a bed and breakfast to give us a little more freedom. I searched expedia read the reviews for the Devon House Guest House and booked. The reviews do not do this lovely little hidden gem justice. Upon arriving we were greeted by Eddy who was welcoming and showed us to our rooms, he gave us a parking ticket for a car park just around the corner as well. The rooms were spotless, very clean and newly refurbished. There were tea and coffee making facilities as well as biscuits which made for a warm welcome. The bathroom was also immaculate and clean, the shower was powerful and there were also ameanities if you wished to use them. When I returned after our evening dining out, someone had been in to draw the curtains in my room and turn my lights on which I thought was a lovely and thoughtful touch. The bed was very comfortable and I wasn't disturbed by any excess noise from outside, so I got a very good nights sleep. The following morning we met for breakfast and again were pleasantly surprised. We met Naomi who explained to us that they had gotten rid of some of the rooms to create more space and she offered us three different types of toast and made sure our tea and coffee was never empty. The full english was delicious and there was also yoghurt and cereal. So impressed I have booked again for me and my other half in August!

We booked here as a last minute break and are so glad we did. It was a lovely, friendly, clean and convenient place to stay. Naomi & Eddie are perfect hosts and made the stay more enjoyable. Very knowledgeable about the area with ideas of where to go (Torre Abbey) and keen to ensure you have everything you need (excellent breakfast). We would definitely recommend this place and we would stay again. Thank you!

Sooo very clean and clutter free
Fantastic little hotel just a side street off from the beech. Breakfast was good quality but alas cold as no covers were on the buffet selection. You could order eggs anyway, nothing was a bother. Our room (5) had a ridiculously small bathroom that was impossible to even rinse your face or dry yourself out of the shower but other rooms were better. Lovely couple. A bit concerned about the mattress being (comfortable as new) latex uncovered apart from an Ikea type mattress cover. Recommended but not rooms 1 or 5

The hotel was clean and well presented. Couldn't have wished for a better welcome, breakfast superb and even special thought paid to grandson aged 3. The only thing I could say is that they need to make the sign outside more visible.
