Very Homely

Posted 15-Jun-2015
Pros: Nice quiet location, really pretty village and lovely little garden to sit in outside
Cons: More radio channels on tv, but this could have been user error!
Location: Nice little village, with little pub. Exeter city centre was about 15 min drive away with lots of shops and cafes nice for just wandering around.
The staff were really helpful and courteous. Room was clean and tidy, nice little touches, plenty of tea and coffee etc, and other little essentials you need.

Pleased to recommend this accomodation

Posted 14-Mar-2015 on Hotels
I was running very late from business meetings and didn't realise the restaurant closes for new guest arrivals at 10.00pm. I was called in my car by the owners and explained that I couldn't get there until 11.15 earliest; they stayed there awaiting my arrival at 11.25pm and couldn't have been more welcoming and accomdating. My breakfast was very good; very reasonably priced; very good value

Last minute booking for overnight stay

Posted 26-Sep-2014
Pros: The comfort and friendliness
Cons: The toilet needed mending and to be able to communicate with staff.
Location: We were down to stay near relatives just for family reasons.
We were greeted by friendly staff and taken to our lovely room, which was comfortable and well-appointed. Unfortunately the toilet was leaking from the handle, but otherwise everything was good. We had breakfast in the morning, and the waiter was very helpful and polite, but did not speak English. He brought us toast with white bread, and when I asked if I might have wholemeal/brown he did not understand and he kindly brought me more white toast that had just been cooked longer with the crusts taken off. This was not a big problem but did make us laugh.

A gem

Well what a lovely hotel and great people, I tend to stay away once a week with work and i enjoy Chinese food so this place was a great find and the food is excellent. i highly recommend this hotel and i will stay again. other hotels need to look at this place because they know how to treat a customer and all staff are so polite, its a credit to the hotel industry.

Great location and it was very different that you can a choice of Dim Sum for breakfast. For the price I paid it was very clean and good value.

Was fine for a night

Posted 22-Apr-2014 on Hotels
Room was rather quirky although bit and big! Made a change from The usual bland chain hotels . The bathroom was very tiny though and you could hear some noise from restaurant below. For the price I think breakfast should have been included. Was clean and comfortable though and wifi was good

Fine stay

Posted 21-Apr-2014 on Hotels
Was ok, we had a few issues getting in as no one was around so killed an hour in the pub next door which was fine. Room was fine perfectly clean but a bit tired internally, bed was perfectly fine. Ate in the restaurant - the food was fine, was overpriced if you didn't have the discount, but authentic enough - think £8-10 in Chinatown in London standard. Breakfast was good value at 6.50.
