Abode Exeter stunning views

Posted 05-Sep-2014
We were on the top floor with a beautiful view of Exeter cathedral, the room was exceptionally clean and tidy, the staff were very pleasant and helpful with a good knowledge of the area, the bathroom in our room was amazing we honestly didn't want to go home. We would definitely stay there again.

Abode Exeter

Posted 05-Sep-2014
Staryed a night and it was alright. I was given Room 104 and it must have been the tiniest room there. Felt squashed and claustrophobic - do they dstill make rooms that small? The bathroom looks nice but the sink isn't really practical. try washing your fach and the water slapshes everywhere. Overall, it was tolerable for a night stay but any longer and I would have had to request for another room.

City Centre Hotel

Posted 02-Sep-2014
Pros: The staff were all extremely helpful, polite and friendly - without exception. The restaurant staff remembered our likes and dislikes.
Cons: Size of wash basin, which in our room was extremely small.
Location: Excellent location for Cathedral, shops, eateries, museum, Central Station and Bus H to St David's Station.
Very comfortable bed. Sky Sports channels on television. Easily controllable air conditioning. At reception nothing was too much trouble. All enquiries and questions were dealt with efficiently and promptly.

Lovely hotel in the centre of Exeter.

We enjoyed really enjoyed our stay in the Royal Clarence, the only negative point was that because our room had a bath, we didn't have a shower. The bath was lovely but a little impractical in the morning. The staff were really helpful and the room was lovely.

Nice location but there were maintenance issues

Posted 21-Jul-2014
Pros: Great dining room and location is better than none.
The beds were very comfortable and the room (103h whilst small had great air conditioning. The down sides were the extractor was not working in the shower, the tv just said weak/no signal and we couldn't get it to work. In addition the shelf in the bathroom was sloping and my glass of water slipped off it. Lastly the design of the wardrobes is not great - the larger door has a full length mirror on the inside but you couldn't open it wide enough to see yourself as the bed stopped the door from opening. Perhaps we were just unlucky on the day though I did point out these issues to the staff who didn't seem surprised when we left.

We enjoyed our stay at ABode Exeter, great hotel and great location. The service in Michael Caines Café Bar and Grill wasn't quite on a par with the rest of the hotel though but still better than a lot of places I've been to!

Good location opposite Cathederal

Posted 05-Jun-2014
Cons: Restaurant was disappionting. Service was very slow and while food was of reasonable quality - it did not match our expectations.
Location: The Cathederal is well worth a visit.
A pleasant place for a short stay in Exeter but whilst it is in a good tourist location it is about a 10 minute walk to the unpleasant municipal car park where the hotel has a discounted rate. This rate was meant to be for 9 repeat entries to the car park, but in fact there was only credit for 1 repeat entry.

Fantastic hotel in a brilliant location, extremely comfy bed, luxurious room, fantastic view out of the window. A superb hotel all in all, the only downside is the distance to the car park. It was ok in the lovely sunshine but wouldn't be pleasant if the weather was wet!

In the cathedral yard, no better place to be in Exeter. Small room but very modern. Mattress was very soft and perfect for a good night sleep.
