“Great service”

Great food, service and walking distance to stadiums. Only complaint is the smoking in the casino.

“Very nice hotel. Close to Ford Field (15 minute walk).”

We decided to visit Detroit to attend a Lions game on Thanksgiving. The MGM Grand was a great choice. Our single king room was spacious with a large bathroom (double sinks), TV in the mirror, large flatscreen with digital cable. We used the exercise facility and pool which are beautiful. Service (front desk, bell captain, and valet) was excellent. The hotel is attached to the casino--but unlike Vegas the casino--you don't have to walk through the casino to get to your room. As it was Thanksgiving, almost all of the Hotel's dining establishments were closed...so I cannot rate. I would definitely go back.

“Expensive, but worth it”

If you're looking for a top-level hotel experience in Detroit, this is it. Fine dining, excellent services, well-appointed room. Worth the price.

“Fun in Detroit”

Very nice hotel/casino, just off the freeway, close to downtown attractions. Won a little cash! A short stay this time, would go back for sure.

“Not a place for kids”

Trouble was that there was only one restaurant in the whole hotel that would allow our 7-year-old grandson in. It was an expensive restaurant and still gave an open view of the casino. I do not understand why we could not take him into the food court for a more reasonably priced meal. French fries cost $5.00!! Was also disappointed that the in-room refrigerator was basically their own bar and could not be used for anything we had with us. Then the complimentary frig was delivered at a cost of $15.00. I feel that with the price of the room, we could have had the frig free. Otherwise, it was a luxurious place.

“Not just a casino”

I was in Detroit on business and lucked out that the conference suggested hotels were booked. I heard about the MGM from a local that uses the spa/recommended it and I really owe her one. The rooms were great and the people very nice/helpful. The only issue was the location a little away from the downtown with not much around it in terms of dining/stores (maybe on purpose as every casino I've been likes to keep you there). Anyway, got downtown easy enough with the hotel's car service, ocassional taxi and even a couple 10-15 min walks to people mover (though probably not for all). BTW: the spa/gym WAS top rate. I never got to the casino floor but I guess that'll still be there next time I stay.

“The best hotel I ever stayed at!”

This is the hotel to stay at if you are in Detroit. The room was very nice, the service was outstanding and the staff was always going the extra mile.
