“Perfect spot”

When we arrived at the hotel, we learned that we actually booked another weekend by mistake. No worries through. Mike at the front desk assisted with Expedia to change the reservation, pored us a drink from the bar...right at check in! The matter was fixed, with a smile! The hotel is within walking distance to two really good restaurants/ road houses. Room was very clean and nicely appointed with a mini fridge and small sink. The only down side was that there were many hockey players with healthy appetites staying the same weekend...not much left for breakfast.

“Pleasantly surprised!”

We booked this hotel at the last minute, as usual, but being it was during Black Friday, we thought the hotel would be below our expectations, given the low price we paid. Wow, we're we pleasantly surprised! The staff were awesome, the rooms were clean and spacious; much larger than the norm. Seperate bedroom and living room with a large sectional couch that opened into another double bed. TV was huge. Breakfast was served at 3 a.m. for us crazy shoppers, and it was adequate, and free. Mostly cold cereals, oatmeal, breads, fruit, yogurt; typical Continental so no complaints there. We were so happy with this hotel, we decided to book a second night. Managers remembered us by name and all staff were very friendly. In the heart of a great shopping area we frequent. Will stay again in the future!

“Pleasant Stay”

The hotel and rooms were very clean and comfortable. We'd had a late lunch during our travels and the complimentary evening hors d'oeurves tided us over until the next morning.

“Hyatt Utica”

Very pleasant few days staying at Hyatt Utica for business trip in Detroit. Pleasant and very helpful staff. Nice rooms - with good facilities and amenities. Good range of food at breakfast and options for snacks/meals during the day. Only complaint is lack of signs from the main road (E59 East) to the hotel (missed the turning and ended up with a 3 mile detour).

Getting there

Heading East along the E59, although you can see the hotel, you need to take the turning after the E53 North - or even go further along E59 East before turning back West along E59 and turning into the hotel/shopping complex.

“Would definitely stay again”

I really enjoyed the hotel, it was very cozy and the staff was very friendly. The only problem was the drain in the tub ran out very slow and the water would back up when taking a shower, other than that the stay was excellent. It was convenient to restaurants, shopping, and local entertainment! I LOVE the location, very quiet and peaceful. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to a friend!!!

“Very convenient to NE Detroit suburbs”

Very attractive property, clean & well-maintained. Responsive & friendly staff. The location provides extreme convenience to M59(E-W) and M53(N-S) corridors. Can't imagine how/why one reviewer commented on difficult traffic - we found the quick access and egress to be a very positive feature.

Utica is a "crossroads" residential community. This location provides quick access to Rochester (upscale shopping & lots of dining choices), Romeo (historical small-town charm and lots of apple & fruit orchards), and several NE Lakeshore communities.

“Clean, Modern, Magical”

The Hyatt Place is truly a little treasure of a hotel. Spacious well appointed rooms. Always spotless, with a clean, modern hook. Wonderful, huge flat screen t.v., Large sectional sofa, complete with ottoman, desk, bar fridge with sink/coffee area. The lounge is adorable and you can get everything from a nice pastry, to a great latte or a glass of wine or beer. There are lots of great restaurants around, and it's proximity to shopping can't be beat. Love it here. Oh, and the price is always right too.

Area recommendations

Utica, Troy, Sterling Heights, Auburn Hills. All the suburbs surrounding the Detroit area are clean, safe and close to everything.
