“great for the price”
Customer service was great. Offers continental breakfast. Compt valet - due to heating system overworking. Had to sleep with window open. Will try this hotel again hope they fix the climent controls.
“Fight Night at St Regis”
We stayed at the St Regis 10/22/2011 to put us in fairly close proximity to an event we were attending Saturday night. We were temporarily prevented from entering the hotel upon our return after our night out due to a brawl in the front of the hotel from attendant's at an anniversary party within the hotel. Once the brawl cleared we were forced to self park our car as staff was unavailable to do so. And once we were finally into our room, we were entertained by a continuation of fight night by very loud arguing/verbal domestic violence from a nearby room. To top it off our in room coffee maker was missing the carafe and filter holder. We were disappointed in that we were expecting to experience a more upscale stay due to the past reputation of this hotel but sadly were let down. Next year we will stay at a casino closer to our event even though it will cost us more.
“Stay for the DTW Half”
I like this place...it's nice and fairly peaceful to stay at. It's about 4 miles from the downtown, you can take a 30 min bus ride for $1.50 or a 10 min cab ride for $8 min. The people are very nice, espeically the little girl in glasses who works there. The hotel offers coffee, juice and muffins in the am. I would def stay here again....very nice.
“It great at St. Regis”
This is my second stay at St. Regis within the last 2 months. The first stay was for a college reunion. I got lost and the hotel clerk gave me directions, and "talked me in". The room was nice and I enjoyed the free Internet. My 2nd stay was a night away with my sweetie. We enjoyed the location and the short ride to Motown. Also, the restaurant across the street had excellent chicken and waffles. I will stay here again when I go to Detroit.
“Would definitely stay here again”
Overall, I was very pleased with our experience at this hotel. The whole place was beautiful. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. Our room was very nice, and clean, and had a great view of the city. Next time I am in the downtown area and in need of a place to stay, I will definitely come back!
“Pleasently Surprised !!”
Before my stay I read other reviews for this hotel and I didn't think I would be pleased. However, upon arrival it was much more than I expected !! I will definitely stay here again !!
“Renter Beware”
This is NOT a 3 1/2 star hotel... The first room we were assigned to was missing a coffee pot, iron, dvd player, and had 1/2 roll of toilet paper. The toilet paper holder was broken off the wall. The door fits loosely in the frame ad the security latch was missing. The ceiling in the bathroom was poorly patched and an access cover in the shower area was left open. We did find the bed comfortable. I complained the next morning and was promptly moved to another room. It was neat and clean. It was missing the advertised refrigerator. The facility was also missing the advertised bar and lounge as well as the restaurant. The internet service worked very well. This hotel falls well below its rating...
“not impressed”
air conditioning non existent. had to transfer to 2 different rooms. was too tired to complain further but even the last room was very warm. I would not go back to this hotel.
“It's not a bad place to be for deing down in the city.”
I like the fact that you can go any where you want in the city.the room where nice and clean too. The only bad thing i notice was there was no breakfist in the hotel lobby. Other than that it's a great place to see the city.
“perfect for the price”
I was never one to spend lots of money on a hotel I just sleep in ....so for the price this hotel costs I would expect $120 cost......but paid far less.....Thanks for the great stay every time!
