The staff of the hotel were amazingly helpful and friendly. They drove us back and forth to our work site, and were the nicest folks. Great service for a very reasonable price. I'll stay there again when I return to Birmingham.

“Business at the zoo”

We were visiting the Detroit Zoo for business and this location was recommended by the zoo staff. It was conveiniently located to the zoo and tons of restaurants. Not a bad drive to the airport, about 30 minutes to get there.

The people at the Front Desk were most helpful and courteous. Everything was fine about my stay.

“Hamilton Hotel - Birmingham, MI”

When you first drive up to this hotel you may get a sinking feeling in your stomache. From the outside it looks very dated. But don't let this fool you. The interior of this hotel has been updated to first class. I stayed in a non-smoking room with a king bed. The room decor was nicer than many of the moderate chain hotels such as Marriott Courtyard. The bed was made up with Scandia down making for a wonderful nights sleep. The only disappointment was that there is no restaurant but there are plenty nearby. I would definitely stay here again.

“Clean and nice”

Hotel was clean and comfortable. Location was great-easy access to a lot of shopping and dining. The traffic noise was a little annoying but not too bad. Our room offered a balcony, which was nice.

“Traffic”

Hotel is on Woodward Ave, a very busy boulevard. Exiting from parking was either North Woodward, or right on local streets to get to East Maple, to be able to go South on Woodward. (In fact you turn right on Woodward, and make a quick left to get to go South. A Very confusing method of travel!)

“Not Impressed”

Bathtub would not drain the water. A repair request did not result into the repair of it. Sink bowl was discolored. Wires were hanging from everywhere. Iron plate was covered with burned debris.

“anniversary letdown”

stayed here on our anniversary and there wasn't much for the hotel to offer for extras. The room was just ok, door needed paint job, bathroom looked dirty. The plus side was the bed and bedding were great.

“overall good experience”

the Hamilton Hotel was fine. The room was clean and the free Breakfast offered more than stale dognuts and coffee, so that was a plus. The people at the front desk were knowledgable which helped with directions and restaurant suggestions. my biggest complaint was that things weren't updated...There was a sign saying there were soda machines on the 2nd and 4th floors , but they had been taken out and there was a mini bar in the room.Not a true complaint, but I wouldn't have gone around the building looking for a soda if there had been something in my room telling me there were no soda machines on the 2nd and 4th floors.... The room service menu was also out of date, considering that the restaurant they offered wasn't there anymore... It didn't ruin the trip though, and from what I gathered, some of the changes were fairly recent, so it wasn't that bad...
