“best airport hotel i've stayed in”

...of course, the bar is low in this category. It was a "normal" embassy suites only 5 minutes from DTW.

“Modern appearance, lots of space, convenient to airport”

The hotel has a modern, sleek inside appearance. Our room had a significant amount of space. 24hour shuttle that operates every 20 minutes to the airport. Convenient to gas stations and a few places to eat. Convenience to airport places the hotel in a not very pedestrian-friendly location with limited surrounding activities.

“Excellent Ambiance”

All the staff was courteous and very professional. We were impressed with the Friday night Manager's Reception. A great idea to get people excited about the hotel and wander around to see all the amenities. It is a first rate hotel.

Area recommendations
Royal Oak for it's downtown cafes and atmosphere and the Detroit Riverfront for the view of Windsor, Canada at night.
Shopping
Somerset Mall, Troy Excellent restsurants as well as upscale stores. Also like downtown shops in Royal Oak.

“Wonderful”

Suberb staff, wonderful breakfast, comfy room. Beds are a bit worn/saggy, but wonderful overall experience. Definitely the best hotel near Detroit Metro.

“Pretty good deal”

Was looking for a place where a couple, a mother (in-law), and adult child could stay comfortably, and this worked pretty well. Not happy with a few things - the door connecting the living and bedroom was broken, beds were pretty soft. Nice amenities though, and the lobby and breakfast/reception areas were very nicely decorated, very modern. Manager's reception had plenty of food (e.g. nachos, veggies and dip, hummus, etc.) and free drinks. First G&T was pretty stiff, but the next one was clearly watered, as was the wine we had. Can't complain if they're free, right? Breakfast was great - a wonderful made-to-order omelet if you want. All in all, a pretty good deal if you want to stay near the airport. Two of our party arrived at midnight, and the 24 hour free shuttle to/from the airport was great.

“will return”

Awesome place, seperate living area, complimentary drinks in the evening. The best breakfast ever. I will return, and recomend this hotel.

Gallup park Kayaking. $14 for 2 hrs it was awesome

“Friendly Atmosphere = Happy Family”

We visit Detroit quite often to see family. Luckily this hotel was in the center of our travels. The hotel was clean, spacious and quiet. The staff was extremely friendly. Since we stayed a full week, we got to know a few people. Everyone was so helpful. Our air conditioner broke down during the last night of our stay, but we were allowed into another room and even reimbursed for our inconvenience. I truly didn't expect that. We rarely heard the air planes fly by. This made our nights even more comfortable. I'd highly recommend this hotel. We plan on returning to this hotel on our next visit. We thanked the staff numerous amount of times because they helped to create our amazing vacation. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

“One of the best placeswe have ever stayed.”

I was very surprised by the low cost of this hotel and the great reviews it was getting made me willing to pay a little bit more (but still very reasonable) than I usually would. Everything was fantastic. Staff was great, the overall appearance is very modern and well kept, the room were spacious and comfortable, and breakfast was great. I have no complaints and would definitely stay again.

Area recommendations
We did not have much to do in the area. With it being so close to the highway, it was convenient to get anywhere we needed to in no time.
