“Nice new hotel in Detroit”

The Doubletree Fort Shelby has very large rooms as well as very nice common areas. It is close to Cobo Hall and Joe Louis Arena - about a two block walk to Cobo. They also offer a shuttle service to take guests to and from games, restaurants and bars in the downtown area of Detroit.

This hotel should be considered a 5 star, the room was comfortable and spacious, the hotel staff was friendly and helpful, and the people mover was 1 block away. I will definitely being staying in this hotel on my next visit to the big D!

“Large well maintained room”

This hotel was new and very well kept. The rooms were clean and spacious. Our suite included a living room with a nice flat screen tv and a separate sleeping area with nice comfy beds. The hotel is located conveniently to downtown Detroit near Comerica Park and the hotel staff were gracious enough to shuttle us to and from our destination (we asked them to call a cab and they just brought us there instead). I'd stay again.

“Modern and Comfortable”

Great Hotel with a very central location within downtown Detroit. Very difficult to find when driving into town, and tuff to get back onto the Hwy. Very modern appliances, small room, but very friendly staff. Would definitely stay again!

The nicest part of the trip was definitely the hotel. Went for a wedding and the city was certainly a disappointment. Recommend Roast for dinner, located in the Cadillac Westin hotel.

“Will always use when it Detroit”

The Doubletree Suites has an excellent location which is close and easy to access from the highway and walking distance from Cobo, Joe Louis and Campus Martius. The suites have a fantastic set up with two separate rooms: a parlor and bedroom. We had our son and was able to put him down for a nap in the bedroom while we were in the parlor. The pull out bed was the most comfortable pull out bed I have ever experienced! I highly recommend this hotel. The only negative aspect is that other guests who are enjoying an evening out come back to the hotel late at night and can be heard if you are in the parlor. Fortunately, from the bedroom, you cannot hear anyone.

hotel is located in a great part of town - close to the major attractions - and, this was not mentioned on the web site, but the hotel offers a free shuttle service. we were dropped off at the detroit opera house and picked up after the show. the room was very spacious and comfortable and the staff was extremely friendly.
