Location perfect, central but quiet; staff perfect, friendly, efficient, patient; room almost perfect, large enough but would have been great if slightly bigger; cleanliness perfect, spot-on in every respect; bed almost perfect, again slightly larger for a double room would have been better but nothing to complain about; good excellent, breakfast superb, early bird budget dinner in the restaurant also excellent. Thank you so much, you'll be our first choice when we return!

Crisp sheets, comfortable bed, clean quiet room - all so perfect after a long day of travelling.
The next day, feeling restored and happy from a wonderful sleep, we discovered the breakfast buffet at the Apex Waterloo, and then began to explore Edinburgh. The location of the Apex is terrific. With the friendly help of the hotel concierge, we mapped out our day and found we could walk almost everywhere. Although we passed many tempting spots , we always enjoyed returning to the Apex's lounge for a pre dinner drink. With it's comfortable couches and chairs, big windows, and a friendly hum, it's such a nice spot to chat over the adventures of the day.
We stayed in 3 hotels in Scotland during this trip and the Apex Waterloo is our clear favorite.
