We arrived before the check-in time so they looked after our bags and put them in our room when it was ready. We went for the deluxe double (gold) room which was nice and spacious with a balcony. Very nice bathroom with separate shower cubicle and TV to watch while in the bath. The traffic outside is quite busy and there was building work going on on a nearby site but with the balcony patio door closed neither was a problem. The pool at the spa was lovely and the spa staff very helpful. St.Helier in February is very quiet and after eating out on the first night and being one of 4 couples in a huge dining room, we decided to eat in the Royal Yacht's Cafe Zephyr on the second night. The food was good, a little on the expensive side, but the place was really busy with a good atmosphere. Hotel breakfasts were very good.
Almost all tourist attractions are closed midweek/weekdays in February.

Having read many poor reports on Trip Advisor we were worried we had made a mistake booking into teh Grand Jersey, well I can assure all visitors to Jersey that teh Grand Jersey is not at all as jhas been written about. The hotel is very welcoming, the staff are so helpful and happy at their work they can't do enough for you. We booked a Delux sea view room and the view over the bay looking out over Elizabeth Island was to die for and the room was large, very well decorated, clean and comfortable. We went for a couple of hourse each day into the spa and it was one of the best steam rooms and sauna's we have been into and again very clean. We will be going again.
