“Wonderful experience at a classic DM hotel!!!”

The service is excellent at the Hotel Fort Des Moines! The staff is very helpful with every little detail! We recently reserved a suite for a birthday party / slumber party for a group of 10 year old girls. We were able to use the pool area for the main party, and had lots of help finding forgotten supplies. The room is quite comfortable and worked out perfectly for our family. The interior of the hotel is quite exquisite with a number of attached dining / lounge options. The 6th floor pool with a view was a bit hit!

“Made my interview trip easy”

I went to Des Moines for a grad school interview. The hotel shuttle made all my transportation easy. As soon as I was off the plane, I called the front desk. They immediately sent the shuttle to pick me up. In the morning, they took me to my interview, and afterwards they picked me up and took me to the airport even though I checked out that morning. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

“Personalized Service, Great Amenities, Good Value!”

The gift shop was closed for the evening, but they opened it up for me to get a tooth brush. They offered to come pick us up from a restaurant further downtown after I asked about lighting on the streets after dark (ya never know, even in Des Moines). The room was fine ... a little aged, but clean as can be. I'd definitely stay here again. Farmer's market on Saturday morning just down the street was marvelous.

“DSM's best”

Hotel Ft. Des Moines is the place to stay when you're in the city. Close to everything, connected to the skywalk, great service, beautiful rooms and lots of history.

“Good stuff”

Stayed on a Friday night before a concert. Nice place, a little off the beaten path but they offer free shuttle service to and from the concert; worked out great. Place is old but clean, a quaint destination. Ate next door at a great fun spot. Second time to stay here in 5 months, would stay again. Not new but a good value.

Couldn't adjust temperature in the room. Surrounding neighborhood is like a ghost town on the weekends. At least Panera Bread was open.

“Great character in downtown Des Moines”

This hotel has beautiful architecture and character. Downtown location is excellent and the area just keeps getting better! Kept very busy last weekend between the Oakley Night Cap Cross Bike races and IMT Marathon. Django restaurant was very good, try it!

“The hotels for Presidents”

This is a very nice old hotel. Over the years numerous Presidents have stayed here. It is located right downtown so you can get to many great restaurants with in a couple blocks.

“Good Hotel, AC Was not working well”

The Air Conditioning was a little outdated, we had to be moved and it still didn't work very well. The Units are not independent so it's what ever the property owner wants the temp to be in all the rooms... Other then that it was a OK stay.
