Perfect place for weekend break. We enjoyed bank holiday weekend... the plus point about this location is if the weather is nice you would be laughing and even if weather isn't good, you still got plenty of things to do within the hotel.
From the start to leaving the Hotel we felt at ease with the very friendly owners and staff. The beer was great, evening meal was excellent and the breakfast was of quality food. A nice touch in the bedroom was a glass of sherry and a sweet. Well done for making our experience very enjoyable. Peter & Maureen

Stayed as a couple celebrating 40 years of marriage. So we did not need isolation, but did want comfort. Diane provided all we needed of the latter, together with a marvellous breakfast experience, and a very friendly and chatty disposition. We stayed for 4 nights in the Apple Blossom room. Other reviews had told us this was small, and it could be described that way, but it suited us (two people) perfectly. The room is kept clean, and is well equipped with the complimentary items most people would expect - including fresh milk rather than the UHT cartons. Bathroom is clean, and shower excellent. Would go back ourselves, and would heartily recommend to others.
There are many eating places in the surrounding area, and also a pub right next door for those tired after a day's walking. This pub does not disturb the tranquility of Blossom House at all.
My partner and I were lucky enough to get the last room available on a rainy Saturday. The unique decor, friendly staff and beautiful Labradors all served to make it a night to remember! We had a huge plate of sausage and mash each and it was excellent and reasonably priced. The ale is tasty and service first class. We will be going back.
As a nation we often find reason to complain regarding our hotels and B&B's. But this establishment is one we should all aspire to and if you find much better then let me know.
I wish the relative bodies that govern the levels of price and quality got their act together they may endorse more establishments like the Alpine Lodge and use this as a yard stick for a nationwide standard that should be everyone's expectation.
Well done you and we will be back again for sure.
NB: We were asked to provide a review. Expedia's questions assume it is a hotel. It Is clearly not but take note Hoteliers.... You've got a long way to better this standard.
