The room was clean and comfortable, pillows were a little bit soft, bed was comfortable, the room was quite warm but there was an electric fan for us to use.

Shocked to find that they wanted over £8.00 for parking in their car park. A bit cheeky seeing as I was staying with them. Breakfast was ample but food could have been warmer.

Impressive value for money.
Three sharing a room! Beds were spacious, clean and comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff! They brought us extra towels, lots of bath stuff, two fans as the room was hot. I would highly recommend. The breakfast was hot and varied and fresh but across the road at the bigger hotel. My sister was offered gluten free porridge and bread. Very impressed! Just a 3 minute walk to our Christmas party. :)

The hotel is very close to the railway station which was ideal. A bit of a hike to the centre, but not an issue for most people. The reception staff were very helpful and pleasant. The room was fairly plain and the decor was marked in places, but clean. Good facilities including hairdryer and ironing board/iron and kettle. Comfortable bed and quiet during the night.

Hallmark inn is just what you'd need for a short stay in Derby. Excellent location near the train station, and the main shopping area is just 10 minutes walk. I didn't mind going to the its other branch Hallmark Hotel just across the street for breakfast; which was good. The check in and check out was quite fast and the 24 hr receptionist helped with booking a taxi really fast to catch our bus. The only thing is that we asked for (meat free) breakfast boxes because we were leaving early last day; they were happily provided but were very basic and we got two instead of three but we didn't have time to clarify as we were in a hurry. All in all, I was satisfied with my brief stay there. Thank you.

The hotel seemed a bit tired . We stayed here about 4 years ago when on a visit to Derby, and it seemed a lot brighter. The were black marks on the walls of the bedroom. And also we were charged £8 per night for parking the car. Usually if you were staying in a hotel the parking would be free. It was grand and near the INTU shopping centre a couple of minutes walk. It was very central.

I did not like the need to go to another nearby (Hallmark) hotel for breakfast. Also, because this was both weekday and weekend nights, Expedia booked this as two separate bookings, meaning the hotel had two bookings with apparently no link between them. Thus, on the Friday night the room key card did not work and had to be reauthorised, not acceptable.

Very old fashioned hotel The staff made my stay they were so friendly at breakfast but overall no comparison to The mickleover court The hotel needs a lot of attention refurbishment sadly it could be beautiful x

The hotel itself was reasonable for the price we paid. There was no air conditioning in the rooms which meant it was a bit hot and stuffy. Other than that the room was clean and comfortable. It looked like the hotel was being used as a half way house though as there were lots of adults and children using the lounge/kitchen area and children playing in the corridors and laying on sofas around the hallways. Breakfast was lovely but this was served in the sister hotel across the road which was much nicer. We will definitely book in there next time

Easy going athmosphere, great value breakfast
A good easy going athmosphere, breakfast was excellent value for money, there was no trouble coming and going to my room. There was no interference from staff, the athmosphere was pleasant, there was nothing I noticed that I could complain about. I felt good there and the city environment was good too. I would definitely use the Hallmark hotel again when visiting Derby which I plan to in the near future.

I have been to this hotel lots of times this time i was very unhappy the cleaning was poor broken window and we had to go to the sister hotel across the street in the rain to have breakfast i must say the 3 ladys servicing were lovely very helpful 1 day no breakfast as oven broken but the manager was very rude the hotel was like a hostel people run up and down hall 1PM and 3 AM

Though the overall services provided were pleasing, having to cross a busy road and walk through Hallmark Hotel grounds to obtain food is a clear disadvantage if the weather is inclement

On-site parking, our parking fee was waived when we registered the car, but I don't think that's common practice. Italian restaurant next door that does takeaways (very nice pizza). Our room (at the back of the hotel) was clean and had everything for a night's sleep, like a bed. The shower was fine too, although I prefer a screen rather than a curtain. Breakfast was in sister hotel next to the train station (2 min. walk). They couldn't quite keep up with the appetite of the guests. I had to wait 15 mins for a croissant, but when I finally got it, it wasn't fully baked. Nice coffee though and the cooked breakfast was ok.

The propert was excellent value for money. The provision of tea, coffee, hair dryer, iron and ironing board was brilliant. The place was spotless and the bed was comfortable. What more can you want from a budget hotel? The only problem I had was that the window catch in my room was broken, it was open when I arrived, but once I had forced it closed, it would not open again. I am sure this is something that will be fixed,.

Got what you paid for.
You got what you paid for. We did find the room comfortable, but there are some downsides I have to highlight. A little fridge would be nice to cool down our drinks, there are a lots of room for it. We appreciated the variety of hot drinks but we could enjoy some decaffeinated coffee as well. Al together we have satisfied. But I only give 3 stars.
