“Room Service is Lacking”
I've stayed at the Burnsley twice now, both for concerts in Downtown Denver. I love the hotel, and the staff is very friendly, however the late night food is pretty terrible. Make sure you pack something to put in the fridge for after-show dining! Might want to pack a bottle opener, too, as they give you a bucket with an opener on the outside, but when you crack your bottle, it goes EVERYWHERE! More Towels would have been nice as well. Minor complaints for a pretty great place.
“Not terrible”
If you're looking for what is a full one bedroom apartment for a few days then this is your place. It's got a full living room, kitchen, bath and bedroom. Unfortunately the furniture is about 2 decades past it's prime and the hotel is sadly understaffed. The staff were all very friendly, there just didn't ever seem to be enough of them. They have a shuttle that will take you anywhere in a 3 mile radius, but plan on asking for a ride at least 15 minutes before you actually need to leave because every time we asked there was only one person at the front desk and we had to wait a while for their co worker to return so they could take us (yes, the front desk staff are also the shuttle drivers). Overall I can't complain too much, it wasn't terrible, just don't have high expectations.
“Gold Standard for Denver hotels? By who's standards?”
I took advantage of a special from Expedia and jumped at the chance to stay at a place that sounded too good to be true. Well, as we walked into the hallway from the elevator, we quickly realized that this place may not be as good as it was billed. And then, we walked into the suite and all doubt was removed. The light fixtures looked cheap and seemed very dim. The bathroom was less than pleasant with flawed tile and cabinets, not to mention what looked painted-over mildew on the ceiling. The only saving grace in the bathroom was the water pressure in the shower. As for the rest of the suite, the window sills had large pieces of cracked plaster laying on them, one of the arms of the desk chair was broken and the kitchen cabinets were as bad as the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable though. Overall, this hotel did not live up to our expectations given the original price point and apparent self-proclaimed gold standard. I would not stay here again, especially at regular, over-priced rates.
“Out of control guests”
At no fault of the Burnsley, there was a party at the hotel that was out of control - about 50 people throwing stuff off balconies, throwing things at cars on the parking lot, etc. They had been at a party at the hotel. Called the police.
“Large Rooms with Complete Kitchen-- a Great Value”
Clean comfortable rooms offer plush bedding & pillows and plenty of space-- including a full kitchen. It's an older building that's been well maintained. The staff was very accomodating, and their free shuttle service allowed us to enjoyDenver's excellent micro-breweries without the worries about driving. I would return to the Burnsley again without hesitation.
“Great staff and wonderful service!”
I really enjoyed my stay at the Burnsley - location was not great, but the enthusiastic and friendly staff drove me to where I needed to be every day. Check-in and check-out were fast and efficient, and the room was large, clean and comfortable. I would have like a microwave in the kitchenette and a full-length mirror somewhere in the room. Loved the free wireless and balcony accessibility. Would definitely stay there again.
“Wonderful weekend in Denver”
This was a great place to stay, the restaurant and jazz lounge were wonderful. Being from a small town, the traffic was a bit intimidating, but having onsite, off street parking was a real plus. Only downside was the heating system was rather noisey. The full size fridge and stove were a real plus for me. I would definitely stay here again!
“Spork Weasel”
Very "old style" hotel. They need to update their TVs. Restaurant in hotel not open on Sundays. Nice eat-in pub next door though.
“Friendly staff.”
Staff were friendly and helpful.
“Good for couples..Not really a family friendly place”
We were on vacation with our 3 year old and our 1 year old. This hotel seemed more like a couples place..not really family friendly. There was absolutly NO counterspace in the extreamy TINY kitchen, and we had to request a microwave for our room (to heat the baby's food) and to took up even more space. We planned to eat in our room.. home cooked things to save $ and ended up eating out a lot more than planned due to the cramped space. with little children you need to research the hotel more.. which we now know for next time. This hotel would have been perfect if it were only my husband and I, but I would not recomend it to families. Great location though, close to the Zoo, Aquarium, Cherry Creek ect. And even if the weather were nice and we could have gone swimming, I dont think I would have let my children get in the pool- it looked dirty and old, kinda creepy.
