Room Amenities
Dining
Palace Arms - Formal service, large portions, a 900-choice wine selection, and a chef who presents each dish to the guests are hallmarks of this quiet restaurant, decorated with antiques dating from 1670—including a pair of dueling pistols said to have belonged to Napoleon and Louisa—and furnished with meticulously set tables, red-leather booths, and 22 replicas of revolutionary battle flags.
Churchill Bar - Located off the atrium and across from the Palace Arms, this cigar bar is a quiet hideaway with red-leather wingback chairs and sofa, a library, and premium spirits, including single-malt scotches and small-batch bourbons. Lunch and hors d'oeuvres are also served.
Ship Tavern - Lunch and dinner are served at this casual restaurant and bar, which evokes early American waterfront taverns, with its crow's nest in the center of the room, model Clipper ships, and nautical decor. Onion soup, prime rib, seafood, signature beers, and the piano cabaret are highlights.
Ellyngton's - The Brown Palace's main dining room—a curved room with windows overlooking Denver's financial district—serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and is known locally as the place where power brokers make deals.
Champagne Brunch - Guests can choose from four tiers: Brunch only, or brunch plus Domaine Chandon, Moet et Chandon, or Dom Perignon Champagne. Advanced reservations recommended.
Traditional Afternoon Tea - Scones, pastries, and tea sandwiches. Devonshire cream shipped directly from England. Music of a harpist or pianist provided.
Atrium Cocktails and Tapas - Live music and cocktails. Drinks can be enjoyed with tapas Thursday through Saturday.

“aging physical plant but great service”
There were 5 problems with the originally booked room from electrical outlets so old that chargers would not stay plugged in to threadbare robes and showers that dripped water in the middle of the night but management took care of the issues promptly.
“Denver 5-star”
Exceptional staff, very customer focused with magnificent detail in decor and the food was to die for!
“Great atmosphere”
The Brown Palace was so nice. The details of the hotel design and the things just to look at were amazing. A flash from the past with all the amenities you could hope for. The neighborhood restaurants were unique and upscale. We traveled by rental car and it was convenient to get around in. The parking is expensive at $28 per day but it was worth it. They were timely getting our car and very hospitable.
“Very close proximity to downtown shopping, eating, entertainment.”
Only problem we had was with a very slow drain in the tub/shower. Had to stand in 6 inches of water while we showered. Other than that everything was great.
“palace”
Very nice hotel.
“great stay- Hotel is one of the great gems of the late 1800's”
We did not expect to be taken back a hundred years (it's a good thing). We are both young and used to the same boutique hotels everywhere. We went to the Brown Palace honestly because everything was sold out. Well what a treat! and great value for the money. AMASING ironwork on all the staircases, i felt like i was in a victorian era movie. And the Piano playing is a great touch, The SPA is fantastic, very nice staff. The room service food is OK, try a restaurant if you can (North in Cherry Creek, Suchi Sasa is the best in town bar none...) Watch out if you have a young child that needs to nap though, there is a band that plays jazz on friday's I guess and you really hear it throught the doors. It didn't bother us al all but you should take note of it when you book.
“Great Time Had By All...”
The staff was great... that includes Housekeeping, Valet and Door Service, Concierge, Wait Staff in all venues, Front Desk and Spa personnel. Hotel has character. Room was clean and nicely cared for. Ship's Tavern, a fun place to watch sports, Ellyngton's provided a decent breakfast, had a good time at the Churchill Cigar Bar and the Palace Arms. Ladies enjoyed the Spa and Tea Time, and the location is great for walking on the 16th Street Mall. We ate a lot and didn't use the fitness center at all.
“Love the lobby. The room is too small; no fridge; too noisy.”
My only problem was the room itself for the aforementioned reasons.
“wonderful best hotel in Denver”
We have stayed here over the years and the hotel continues to be excellent in a wonderful location for walking and also to take the shuttle bus. There is inexpensive parking across the street on 17th if you don't want valet parking/ The hotel lobby is charming and has great music in the evening and the Ships Tavern continues to have yummy roast beef and good entertainment in the evening.
“My new favorite hotel!”
Beautiful hotel with a lot of history. We loved everything about it. Great room, delicious food and great service. Highly recommend this hotel.
