“Nice but didn't quite cut it”

Attractive and comfortable with attentive desk and concierge service, the Oberoi almost but doesn't quite hit the spot. Their main dining room offers delicious, apparently award winning, Indian fare with spotty service though better for dinner than for the busy breakfast. Coffee was inconsistent and never strong enough for this traveler. As my India travels progressed, however, I looked back longingly at the weak brew as Nescafe instant kept rearing its ugly head. The hotel offers several kinds of pillows for the asking and has a nice view of the golfcourse and pool. The big disappointment assaulted me in the shower in the form of a brown fecal spot on my otherwise pearly white and freshly laundered wash cloth. Management seemed appropriate appalled as illustrated by a personal visit by the housekeeping manager and the arrival of a mysterious unmarked floral arrangement but no offer of comps on our bill. My massage was very good and the spa facilities nice. It's not their fault that a female guest was mid-rant about some guys ogling her in the gym when I checked in for my service. I would try out one of Delhi's many other nice hotels, the Imperial for example, before giving the Oberoi another chance.

“Great retreat from the chaos of Delhi”

The Oberoi is a great retreat from the chaos of Delhi, but you obviously pay for the privilege, and you don't get much of a sense of India from the hotel, you could be in any 5 star hotel in the world, there's not a great deal of character - which I guess would be a plus to business people! Great food in the 360 bar and nice atmosphere, it's a relief to be able to drink the tap water in a hotel in India.. : ) Nice pool and spa and business centre. Rooms are smallish but well appointed and have all the creature comforts, with nice views of either the golf course or Humayun's Tomb.

“Can't wait to get back”

This is an excellent hotel. We got to enjoy every aspect of it in our short stay - the pool, the steam-sauna, the great airport pickup, the cuisine, and the great staff. I recommend it strongly as a must stay place to have a great time in New Delhi.
