“highly recommend”
Located off the beaten path, the surrounding neighborhood is not for the feint hearted. But then again, neither are many parts of Delhi, or Delhi at all, for that matter. Located in Pahar Ganj, the main bazaar street fascinates those architecturally inclined as well as those with a mind for bargains. While its proximity to the two metro stops is appealing, the trek from the train station is not an easy one with luggage, so be sure to hire an overpriced cab or auto rickshaw. The texture of the neighborhood itself is fascinating, and while on the surface, it may seem run down, as a female traveling solo, I felt perfectly comfortable on my own.
The hotel itself was well maintained (some corridor carpets could be replaced), the showers/bath in excellent condition, and the bed very comfortable; the street noise from my room was not an issue. Most importantly, the staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating. I would definitely stay here again.
