Pros: The size of the bed
Cons: Temperature control with the air conditioning units.
Beautiful Hotel and Perfect Location, however the air conditioning seemed determined not to work and pumped out hot air all day and night - even though it was on the coldest setting - despite the bed being very comfy, the temperature of the room made the whole experience very uncomfortable.

Dated, room with no view 5th floor Cleaning issues

For the price, room was a disappointment. No view from 5th floor, toilet dirty and bath full upon arrival- nothing special- feel would have got better value at budget hotel across the street

nice hotel for a weekend leisure break

Posted 09-Mar-2015
Pros: The staff were polite, friendly, welcoming and very helpful and very knowledgeable. The rooms were spacious and spotless.
Cons: Internet speed was slow and sometimes stopped.
Location: There are plenty of shops, cafes, bars, restaurants near bye, theatres are also close by and plenty of transport options.
The hotel was great was very grand and tastefully decorated. The rooms were really spacious and spotless. The staff were very helpful and polite and could not do enough for you. There was also loads to do in Manchester there were plenty of shops near by and things to do and see. The city is great for shoppers, nightlife, and also foodies as there is all kinds of different cuisine to choose from.

Disappointed

Posted 08-Mar-2015
Pros: It was clean
Cons: Air con. The French restaurant was over-rated and they served our party of eight as though it was two tables of four. Not a great dining experience
Location: Manchester City Centre, lots of shops, places to eat, we had breakfast at San Carlo Ciccheti in House of Fraser, it was great.
The room was fine but there was no mirror on the dressing table / desk so if you wanted to dry your hair you had to stand in front of the wardrobes. The windows did not open in the room and the room was warm, when you turned the air conditioning cooler the noise meant you couldn't sleep. Very disappointed.

Hotel Review - HR Summit Supplier 2015

Posted 16-Feb-2015
Pros: Comfortable, welcoming, centrally based, clean,
Cons: Try to get a car park
Location: Plenty of local restaurants and bars and so not restricted to the hotel facilities
The only down side to the hotel is that you do not have a car park. All other facilities are excellent

Grand Edwardian hotel in city centre

Posted 09-Feb-2015
Pros: As above
Cons: Needs note on website that gym/pool are closed.Tell people this when they book by phone. I nearly went out and bought swimming trunks.
Location: Bridgewater Hall 2 mins: Palace and Royal Exchange theatres 5 mins. Lowry galleries and theatre (including opera) 20 minutes by tram outside hotel.
Very friendly hotel in a convenient location. Magnificent lobby, and comfortable public lounge serving drinks and snacks. Note that if you want afternoon tea you have to book it! Unusually good breakfasts. Excellent service throughout. Room was comfortable if on the small side, but with a very nice bathroom. It was at the front with a view of the library, and there was some street noise though this subsided in time to give a good night's sleep. For the light sleeper a room overlooking the courtyard would be better. The gym and spa is closed for 6 months which was mildly disappointing.
