“Very nice for the price”

We only stayed one night while passing through town. The building isn't the newest...nor are the rooms. But everything is very clean and the staff is super nice and helpful. Check-in and check-out were a breeze. We had a great ocean front room with a private balcony and kitchenette. Would definitely recommend for anybody staying in the Daytona area!

“Excellent value!”

This hotel is an excellent value! We had a very easy check in with the friendly and helpful staff. Our room was an oceanview king, which was large and very clean. After the first night we decided to upgrade to an oceanfront room and it was definately worth the small extra charge! The oceanfront room had a stove, microwave, fridge, toaster and coffee maker - all the comforts of home! We are not morning people, but couldn't help but wake up early to watch the sunrise over the ocean as we sat on the terrace witha cup of coffee - just a gorgeous view! The room was clean, the property was well maintained. We had breakfast at the cafe several days during our stay and the food was good and the staff was warm and friendly. The location of the hotel is excellent - close to souvenier shops as well as Bealls Dept. store and outlet, lots of restaurants and fishing excursions, and easy access to driving routes. Just 15 minutes from the airport. This is not one of the newer hotels, but for convenience, price and satisfaction, it was a great value. We cannot wait for another trip back!

“3rd stay, still happy”

This hotel is clean, with a nice staff. everything works, plenty of towels, they wash their sheets in HOT water. very nice. 2 pools (indoor/outdoor) both clean. and it is one of the few smoking hotels still available on the beach. the only thing they could do better is put CD/DVD players in room. It is an older hotel, but very well maintained with an inexpensive cafe hrs 7-2. I will continue to stay here every time I'm in Daytona. rooms are a tad small, but w/full kitchen, still good.

“Great place to stay on the beach”

This was our second visit to the Tropical Winds. Great hotel, prime location (not too far from the pier) and great staff. Had a few minor problems with our room but a call to the front desk ensured their teams were sent pronto to rectify the situation. My wife and I are very fussy about cleanliness and I can assure you this place is clean and well kept. One thing missing in my opinion is the absence of a pool side hot tub. It would have been nice to soak after our long walks on the beach. My wife and I will be visiting the Tropical Winds again.

“Might regret such a nice review !”

I personally spoke to manager on my departure. I told her I would review but was skeptical as it might cause me to not get the same room next time. The personnel were about the most friendly, helpful, efficient staff, who just cared for the customer in ways I have never seen. The proprty was under constant cleaning and upgrading. Every person, from front desk, maintenance, restaurant, housekeeping made my stay seem just like home. Yes, I will return.

“Even better than first visit”

Our second trip to this hotel. Front desk allowed early check-in. A+ in service. Great view of city and ocean. For 4th of July holiday a very quiet location. Nice touch with the inexpensive pool-side dogs and sandwiches. We'll try to book for next year's NASCAR races.

“Wonderful Hotel”

Room was very nice and kept very clean. Close to main attractions. Easy to find. Everyone was very nice. I booked this hotel on expedia.com (my first time using the service) and I was a little concerned that the hotel would be a dump or that the hotel wouldn't honor the price listed on expedia. No worries - everything was wonderful. I would recommend both the hotel and expedia.

“Surprised at cleanliness”

I'm always doubtful about the condition of older ocean front hotels. Tropical Winds was very clean and well maintained. No odors and the quitest A/C I've seen in a long time. I don't think you can do better for the price. Nice little restaurant on site with great service. Only had breakfast but it was very good. I'll be staying there again.
