Everyone talks about providing excellent service or excellent customer satisfaction. But what separates a great customer service from excellent service is defined by how the service representative solve a problem when you are in a jam. In this case, Flora the customer service rep step up to the plate to help me find a new room when the room that was assigned to me ran into some problems. Instead of asking me to live with the shortcomings, Flora took control of the situation and make sure that the problem was not only solved, but meets or exceeds the expectations.
Congrats to Fortune Hyatt for having an excellent staff on its team. Looking forward to my next visit to your hotel.
"Very modern and good hotel for Zhongsan of Taipei."
I found this hotel modern, very clean and a great breakfast for a high-end, mid-line hotel. It is not the Hyatt but a super hotel that one can depend on quality and safety along with helping find tours and restaurants. I used this as a good base for walking or taking the subway (even better than San Francisco's BART) to great temples, local markets and museums. There are opportunities in the area for good, cheap local eateries and coffee shops to taking a taxi to a fancy restaurant. It is very close to a subway station or even an inexpensive bus to the airport. It is probably not for the student, economical traveler unless needing a good place once in a while for a luxurious diversity. The staff was most helpful and the hotel offers money changing for customers.
"Nice hotel convenient to major transportation hubs"
This location has 2 buildings, one regular, and one executive, the latter being very nice. I stayed in both during this trip. Location is convenient, 15 minutes walking distance to either the closest MTR and the TPE Railway hub. It also offers free shuttle to these stations and the famous Ximending. Staff is knowledgeable, professional, and sincere. Even the shuttle driver is very helpful to offer some guide on going around (I asked how to get to Jiufen and the National Palace Museum).
Particular thanks to the staff who helped us resolve a flight delay from TPE to HKG at very short notice, on which date (Sunday) the airline office is not working. She helped to secure us on an earlier flight from TPE to prevent a disconnect from HK to NY. (Unfortunately forgot her name, probably the manager can find out and send my personal sincere thanks to the lady that helped us, she did go an extra mile). What happened on that date: I got a NOTIFLY message of delay which I feared that will jeopardize our original connect flight. HK had thousands of stuck passengers not getting home, many flights are cancelled or delayed because of unusual bad weather in southern Chin area. Some stayed in the airport over 24 hours without a flight. Our family was lucky to get back to our NY home safely.
We checked in on May 25 for a few days in Taipei. From get go, we knew we wanted to pay for the airport transfer. They were not only prompt in returning the emails and informative on what was needed and how much should be paid up front but also called to double check on the time and date before our trip. We landed without a worry that everything was set up and got to the hotel with no problems. Check in was a breeze, everyone from check in to check out was friendly and very accomodating. The rooms are clean and well appointed. There's free snacks and drinks not only in your room, but in the main lobby common area as well. The upside is that there's a self serve laundry near the lobby area where they provide laundry soap and dryer sheets. It's also a short walk to the the Taipei Main Station MRT as well as the Zhongshan MRT and very close to the Q square if shopping is your thing. We couldn't have had a more pleasant experience and would highly recommend this hotel to everyone we know.
A quiet district on the east bank of the Tamsui River, Datong has several Qing Dynasty Confucian temples and is known for its Lunar New Year celebrations. Check out Dihua Street with its distinctive Japanese colonial and Qing Dynasty architecture. Visit during February when the street fills with a festive night market. Datong is served by the Orange and Red MRT lines and the Taipei Bus Station.
