Staff was very courteous (even to us non-German speakers, haha). English was great. Rooms were comfy, spacious, clean and nice. The breakfast was just wonderful. Formal, delicious and excellent service. And the staff was super helpful and knowledgable for tourist-y stuff like where to go, how, how much, etc. Couldn't ask for better, especially at the price. Location is great too, as it's just a short walk from Luisen Platz which we adored.

The cosy Ramada Hotel Darmstadt is a 3-star Superior hotel in Darmstadt, Germany . Suitable for professionals and tourists …More
We are an American couple traveling for vacation in Europe. I speak German moderately well, my husband not at all. We stayed one night in Darmstadt, en route to a different location. My German friends told us that "no one goes to Darmstadt, there is nothing to see." Needless to say, we had pretty low expectations. We were driving a car and I will say that the one problem with this hotel was that you cannot drive up to the front. The location had our GPS very confused. We were also confused and didn't realize (until our second time stressfully round-abouting back through the city) that you need to drive down into the large platz parking garage in order to be able to reach the hotel.
Anyhow, once we were parked in the CORRECT parking garage, our stay from there was wonderful. I conversed in German while checking in and was delighted to find out that the employee we dealt with spoke flawless English. She was more than happy to speak English (which I do appreciate but find slightly embarrassing at the same time.)
Our room was great, it looked to be newly remodeled. We checked out the "fitness center" and wished we had brought out bathing suits. In the evening we took a walk through the "castle" across the street and found a really great beer garden called the Ratskeller. They have fantastic beer and food. We spent many hours there and then walked through the shopping district. The area was much livelier and vibrant than I would have imagined!
I had business meetings in Rotterdam, Antwerpen, Brussels, Paris and Mannheim. My stay at the Darmstadt Maritim Conference Hotel was without a doubt the best of the trip. Courteous service, excellent room and fine food. The train to the Franfurt Airport makes it a "Must Stay" location. Damdstadt Brewery is next door...also has a very good restaurant.
The room looked lovely and welcoming and the bed, pillow and bedding was extremely comfortable. We were there for 3 nights and slept well every night. We had requested a room away from the road and this enabled we had no traffic noise as we prefer to sleep with the window open. The bathroom was more than adequate and soap was provided for shower and sink.
We did take our own kettle and european extension lead and this was used frequently for hot drinks in the morning and at night time. (The only available electric point was halfway up the wall so the extension lead was invaluable and it also enabled us to recharge our mobile phones.)
The hotel was just a five minute walk away from the town centre and ideally situated. It is also quite close to the railway station.
We did not try the breakfast at the hotel, as we met up with family during the day. There was no wifi in the bedroom either, which was a surprise. I believe it was available in the bar area but we chose not to use this facility.
We would stay there again.
Great Hotel, the bus to Darmstadt Central Station is located in front of the hotel and 5 minutes to the station.
Room was always clean, grat breakfast, internet service in the room, and the the best is the affordable price.
I will definetely stay again.

The hotel is small and quiet. The staff are efficient and friendly. The rooms are clean and provide what you need for a business trip. Free WiFi. For a business trip, the hotel provides everything you need at a good price.
I would have rated the hotel room with a 5, except the single-bed mattress was worn. I had to sleep all the way against the wall in order to find an area that the mattress was fully supportive.
I was extremely pleased with the peace and quiet afforded by the heavy walls and doors. The black-out drapes allowed me to sleep very soundly on the weekend mornings when I could sleep in a bit.
The location of the hotel is great. It was a very short walk to the city center, only two or three blocks away. It is also located near several good restaurants.
My only suggestion: replace mattresses more often. I should not have to discover this problem myself.
