“Fine but can do better for the money”

The hotel is convenient to the airport and comfortable and the service is good. The breakfast was acceptable but not as good as in the competition. The room was perfectly acceptable, but the appointments and quality are of a lower level than other hotels at the same price level.

“Great Stay for Price”

With on-going highway construction, t was a little difficult getting to the hotel. However, once there it was a very nice hotel for the price. The breakfast was very good and the front desk workers were very helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

“Not sure it's a Marriott”

Really not sure it was a Marriott, maybe a knock off. Room was just ok. Nothing like being at a big Marriott. Saw a Fairfield a few miles up and it looked like the real thing.

“All round excelence”

I had no problems with my airport stop over. Clean room, very comfortable bed, slept like a log. 12 noon check out was bonus because of afternoon flight.

“Tour of Dallas”

Yes this is an older looking hotel inside, but it was very clean and well kept - good value for the price we paid. The staff were amazing - very friendly, courteous and helpful. They answered our questions and we felt very welcome. There is a shuttle to the airport and to nearby shops so it's easy to get around if you don't have a car.

Area recommendations

From the hotel in Irving, you can get their free shuttle to the airport which will connect to other shuttles/services. We liked Grapevine Mall for shopping & restaurants - and the Bass Pro Shop is a must see. The shuttle will also take you to the Grapevine Historical District (excellent) and Gaylord Texan Resort - which you should go in and see, have a coffee and look at it - it is amazing! From the hotel in Irving we drove to the TRE station at Irving South to go by train into downtown Dallas (you can get a train from the airport too, I think) to 'The Sixth Floor Museum' - formerly the book depository where the JFK assassination took place. Nice restaurants in Main St. The best part of our stay was the drive to the 'Historic Stockyards District' in Fort Worth. It is some 30 miles (50km) - there is a train from Grapevine Historic District (not the best hours but do-able). We loved our time in Fort Worth, especially the parade of the Longhorn Herd down main street by authentic cowboys in period costume and saddles. We will definitely return - there is more to do at the Stockyards than can be done in one day!

“Worked out well”

We had an early, early morning flight out of DFW, This hotel was very economical, convenient, and bed was especially comfortable. Front desk service very helpful. The on site overnight parking along with shuttle service to and from airport made this work out really well for us.

“Would return”

The hotel was great. We had traveled from Missouri. We had been on a 8 day trip when we stayed at this hotel. I had booked the room in advance through Expedia which meant it was already paid for. My husband checked in while the family and I unloaded the car. Little did I know he had put our check card down as a "In case of charges to the room". When we got home and I was online banking from our 10 day trip, I had noticed they charged our account $40! My husband called immediately to ask why. They said that was normal procedure, though we were NEVER told that when he gave them our card upon check-in. We wanted it corrected as soon as possible,as we had not had any EXTRA charges to our room. We were told it was a 7-10 day process. We had to make more phone calls and FAX papers to get this problem solved quickly. So staff was kind at check-in except was wrong for not disclosing this information, but became very rude when we wanted an explanation and it corrected!
