We arrived at the Inn Fine in Dalian to find they did not have any record of our reservation ( which had been paid in full) through Expedia. It took over 20 minutes and when they still couldn't find it, they made a copy of the printed confirmation I had and checked us in. ( they did eventually find it, but it was just a real hassle!) Upon entering our room, we found it to be a swealtering 30 degrees Celsius (87 degrees Farenheit) and the room NVER cooled to below 25 degrees Celsius (77 degrees Farenheit) which is not at all comfortable to sleep in, especially after a long day in the heat of China!! The bed was hard and although the linens were nice, it was not very comfortable. The room was fairly small which would have been OK but the temperature of it (and the rest of the hotel for that matter) was VERY uncomfortable! The breakfast was not very good either and the coffee was TERRIBLE!! The staff made an effort, but their English was not very good and so trying to communicate problems was almost pointless! Probably would not stay here again.
Very nice hotel. I had been looking forward to spending some time there as it is very new. Nice to try something new. The hotel was very comfortable, and the food at the restaurants very tasty. I'd recommend anyone to try out, so long as they don't mind extended waits for taxis. The staff were also helpful, and quick to work. I would definitely consider going back.
I had three experiences I did not like:
1 - The hotel, while in an area that will be ***in a few years*** a popular location, is very inconvenient. They are able to call taxis, but they take forever to arrive. The hotel is located "near" downtown, but is not in fact in downtown. Keep this is mind when booking. I booked knowing this, but did not anticipate such long waits for taxis. I imagine this problem will lessen in a few years when there is more traffic in the area.
2 - My room (1625) had quite a bit of mold right at the entrance on the wood paneling that backs the shower. I imagine there is a water leak due to poor construction quality. Not really a true health issue to short term travelers, but a health issue never the less. I noticed in the shower floor that something had been done, probably to fix the leak. If they fixed that, I do not understand why they have yet to replace the moldy panel. It is unsightly.
3 - WiFi is not free. ~$15 a day (100RMB). This may be a general thing in all Hilton hotels, I am not sure, but needs to be mentioned. Hotels should not be charging for WiFi. It is 2012.

The Hilton Dalian is a 370 room upper upscale hotel located right on Dalian*s new mixed use development area right on the …More
The hotel is quite dated now and in need of some maintenance and refurbishment however overall a very nice hotel that is some distance from shopping however nearby cafe's had some great food for reasonable prices.
The staff were quite friendly and mostly helpful
The only claim I could detect to "International" was a clock on the reception wall purporting to display the time in New York. The staff had no English, French or German, refused to accept Amex and generally catered only for the Chinese.
The bedroom carpet was disgusting, more stains than pattern.
The room and corridors smelled of cooking.
