“superior customer service”
Excellent little place within the walking distance to the main square: maybe cheaper than other comparable hotels because it's 6-7 blocks further from Armas de Plaza. You may have to wait few minutes before the water gets hot, but it is more than made up by very warm and personal staff service 24/7: they may help you with tour guides, direct you to places where you can buy what you need, flexible with accommodating visitor's needs, may even switch you to a penthouse without additional charges if it's available. Some of clerks do not speak English well, but they will call other clerks, like Sylvia, who will help you with any of your concerns. This hotel has free internet available all the time. Overall, a great place for a tourist on a fixed budget.
“Not impressed”
The water always changed from hot to cold. The bed and pillows were not comfortable for two people- my wife and I had to sleep in separate beds to be comfortable (and it was our honeymoon). I didn't get a wake up call the last day even though I asked for one. If I didn't set the alarm on my cell phone, we would have missed the plane going back to the U.S.
“Peru Wonders”
I really enjoyed the bilingual staff. They were very friendly and helpful. The only problems I had were only indirectly related to the hotel. A tour coordinator named Alberto was extremely problematic....condescending, rude, and beyond setting me up with good tours, his customer service was horrible. One example was after I got back from Machu Picchu someone was supposed to be there to retrieve me since it was more than an hour from the hotel. I called him and he basically suggested that I should be able to get back...and he was sick of all my questions. I felt that my safety was put at risk. I had to catch a cab and felt very uncomfortable. The worst thing was that he never even called to see if I made it back to the hotel safely. Again, this was not the hotels fault as he is an independent contractor and works at several hotels.
“Brand”
The Hotel has a good service. The rate includes breakfast, wifi in the rooms, and tea service (including coca tea). The front desk staff speak English. The rooms are OK, but not of the same level as the service. The hotel is located 6 blocks (walking) from the main square; the hotel is easy to find. I recommend take a taxi is very cheap, the same price to everybody. Is not as Lima.
“Bad hotel with high aspirations”
This is a terrible little hotel wanting to look like something it is not. The 'museum' label is a joke, the place is dirty and super noisy, and far off the area of town where you really want to be. Reserve this hotel if you are going to the sports stadium and don't mind the noisy neighborhood. Otherwise, go somewhere else. We ended up switching to another, far better hotel and superb location, for same price.
“No frills stay in Cusco”
Hotel is walking distance to Plaza des Armas, although it may be advisable to take a cab in the evening. Rooms are OK, except for the lights (low power fluorescent bulbs) which are terrible for reading. OK shower. Staff was very friendly, they stored our luggage for free while we went on a trip, and did their best to make our stay pleasant. Overall I'd recommend this hotel for a no frills stay in Cusco.
“Centrl location”
The hotel is conveniently located near the Plaza de Armas but on a noisy and busy street. Our room adjoined the lobby and was consequently also quite noisy. It was worth the budget price, but not conducive to a relaxing stay. The staff goes out of their way to make guests as comfortable as possible.
“You get what you pay for and sometimes less”
Watch the sales pitches starting at the pickup that are ridiculously overpriced
“Very good value”
I was a little hesitant to book this hotel because I found no reviews of it. Eventually I stayed in the there for a night. The hotel is quite small . The furniture remembers better times, but the accomodation is very adequate. There is a very helpful receptionist who speaks decent English. The price includes continental breakfast (buns, butter, jam, cofee and juice). The location is good (less than 10 minute walk to Plaza del Armas). You book through expedia but eventually pay cash at the hotel. It is a very good deal for the money.
