    “Breezes”

The problem with the resorts was the fact that they were constantly running out of drinks and cups. This is supposed to be an all inclusive hotel and it was a pain having to constantly wait for cups and having to change drinks because they were always running out of everything. The people that worked at the resort were very friendly.

“Not my idea of an :All inclusive"”

My family of three checked in at 8:30pm. There wasn't a bellman to be found nor a luggage cart so we carried our luggage up three flights of stairs in the Pelican building to our room. Upon opening the door a gush of mold/mildew odor was the first thing that greeted us. Next was saggy ceiling tile, a bed, and a table with a tv on it. We were told this was a "recently renovated room" . The food is ok with the exception of the Japanese resturant as it was wonderful. You are served all liquids in 4oz cups and have to order 4 or more at a time or you find yourself constantly running back and forth as they only put 3oz per cup, that is when they acturally have cups. You have to fight the flies at the buffet, there is an aweful stinch of beer and wasted fruit juice at the main bar. There are no vending machines or ice machines to be found. They were constantly running out of plates, soda, mixers, cups, mayo, ect ect..... The swim up pool is a joke as the staff will not come around to the water side to serve you. the main pool closed at 6. This hotel really needs a lot of updating. The only thing Breezes Curaco has going for it is the Beautiful Beach, free use of the water sports equipment, and aspitations for a 2 star Motel rating.

    “Can't wait to go back!!”

The maintenance from the hotel is the only issue that we had. The food was GOOD!! We didn't had enough time to enjoy the activities, the pool was nice & clean. The GYM clean enough space and it have a good variation of training machines... We will be back in Breezes Hotel for sure!!

“Great Value and a fun resort”

While the resort is a bit older - the food was great, the room was clean and the service was great - as long as you smiled at the staff and were friendly, they were friendly back. The entertainment staff is fantastic and helped make our trip a memorable one. The water has fantastic visibility, so if you snorkel or dive you will love that you can do it right out your front door.

We felt extremely safe on the entire island. You should definitely see Boca Tabla, Watemula blow hole - we got to that end with a private driver. We took dune buggy's to the East side to see the Ostrich Farm and the Indian Caves - they were all fantastic....and by all means snorkel any beach you can~
    What to pack
It is very hot there, even after it rains so don't bother with jeans or thick cotton

    “Worse all inclusive”

We have had the opportunity to visit many all inclusive resorts. We were excited when we first read about the "Super" club at Breezes. When we arrived at the hotel there was no one available to assist with the bags. The rooms were in a major need of an update with some rooms at the other side of the resort without hot water or air conditioning for 3 days. (Luckily we were not in that building) The food was very disappointing and we have never had this issue at other resorts we have visited. Many of us tried to go out to town to eat as frequently as possible. We are typically not picky eaters and were disappointed at the quality of food and service at the buffet. The specialty restaurants were at least a little better. The SPA at the resort was wonderful and even though you had to pay we each visited twice. I will say the dive shop staff was fantastic. There is nothing Super about this resort.

The Island as a whole was absolutely gorgeous and I would highly recommend a visit to Curacao- just pick a different resort. The Dolphin Academy was great and Scooby's Island Tours were fantastic!

    “I won't go back”

The hotel wasn't bad but I would not go back. The food was average at best. I went for the diving and the diving was great. I stayed in an oceafromt room in the plover wing, and it was ok. It was in need of some TLC. The other buildings looked newer and nicer. The staff was pleasent and helpful. The bars and food stands were understaffed and long lines were the theme. The nightly entertainment was ok, but it was loud and didn't end until midnight, so getting to sleep early was out of the question with all the noise. Overall the trip was just ok, but I won't be staying at breezes again.

    “Breezes 2011”

The resort is 3 star and could use some updating. The rooms were cleaned daily and all functions worked fine (shower, toilet, TV etc.) The water pressure would drop in early evening when most people shower. The buffett was acceptable and the Italian and Japanese restaurants were very good. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful and added to our vacation experience. The entertainment was very good, especially the Sax player. Rooms are not sound proof and our room was oceanfront in Plower wing. If you want quiet ask for a unit in the Flamingo or Pelican wing.

    Area recommendations
This resort is on a nice beach and close to Williamstedt and the Aquarium. Best snorkling is at this resort along the rock/reef area.
    Outdoors or beach
The Casa Abao beach is one of the nicest on the island and also has rest rooms, a restaurant and bar.

“Mid range all inclusive but would definitely return!”

Having stayed at other much more expensive all inclusives, you definitely get what you pay for but Breezes does a pretty good job for a significantly cheaper all inclusive option. Curacao is beautiful - the water is incredible! The location is convenient to the airport (2o min.) so you don't spend hours getting to your vacation, like many places in Jamaica. Check in is ridiculously slow but that seems to be standard for most places I have been in the islands. The breakwater built off the beach provides some of the best snorkeling I have ever seen. Lots of fish come right close to shore, used to being fed, so it is a great place for beginning snorkelers or kids to see fish but not have to go into deeper water. The included scuba diving was for shore dives right from the pier at the hotel and were great but were only scheduled in the afternoon so if you wanted to pay for extra boat dives, you missed out on the "free" diving. Diving Encounters ran the diving - prices for additional dives seemed a bit high and there was limited availability so I didn't get to dive as much as I would have liked. Food was ok - nothing special although the reservation restaurants were better than the buffet. Drinks were good. The main pool tended to be busy and the water was not very clear but I definitely prefer the beach. The other pools were always empty and very clean. Each evening there was nice live entertainment around dinner time (sax, trumpet, steel drums) on the pool deck.

    Shopping
Twice a day the hotel runs a free shuttle into downtown Willamsted, which is a typical cruise ship port and shopping town with all the designer stores and eateries, which doesn't really interest me. There is some pretty architecture and a very few museums. I wouldn't need to go back into town again but others might like the shopping. Being a solo female wandering around, I felt safe, even when I was in the more "local" sections of town.
    Events and shows
There is a small casino at the resort - I never went in. I was told bottled water was only a dollar there which was cheaper than in the gift shop, if you needed bottle water. The tap water was fine for me! I never stayed up for the nighttime entertainment but people I spoke with thought it was "lame" and not like what you get on a cruise ship.
    Outdoors or beach
To have more diving opportunities, I would likely reserve ahead of time to be guaranteed enough dives. There was also the Dive Bus next door/across the street that ran shore dives that I would check out. Diving Encounters is located right at the resort and has other locations at some of the other resorts so we usually picked up other divers before heading out to the dive sites. They did provide a locker room where you could store your gear instead of lugging it back to your room. The beach is beautiful, the water fantastic and crystal clear. Probably half of the beach is rocky getting into the water but there are other areas were it is a sandy entry. There were windsurfers, kayaks and water trikes that could be used within the breakwater area. The Hobie cats were taken out into the ocean but you had to go out with one of the water sports guys. They had snorkel gear available but I would bring your own just so you can snorkel whenever you wanted to. Bicycles were available - the island is pretty flat but without a good map, I just stayed on the main drag infront of the hotel to explore a bit - not much to see. Ocean Encounters is an easy bike ride or walk up the road.
    Other
I stayed in a Junior Oceanview suite which was very spacious, including a kitchen with stove, fridge, pots/pans, dishes, etc. Not sure why you would need that at an all inclusive! My room faced away from the resort which probably made it quiet at night. I was there mid-September which did not seem to be a busy time so it may be noisier at other times of the year. The fitness room was fairly small and usually busy in the mornings so you ended up waiting for your preferred exercise equipment.
