“So-so”

The building looks like an old hotel which has been renovated, well parts have been but quite a lot is still to be done! Some bits have a nice authentic atmosphere, other parts are just old and worn down. Our bathroom had clearly been built into an already existing room and was therefore rather small. Both the room and the rest of the place could have been cleaner. Breakfast was not great. I won't say we would never stay here again, but next time we want to stay in this area we'll try another hotel.

“Excellent Stopover Hotel”

The hotel was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It is very good as either a base for visting local attractions (eg Hadrians Wall) or stopping over on a long journey as it is only 5 minutes from the M6/M74. make sure you call if you are going to arrive after 10pm.
