Short family break

Posted 24-Oct-2014
We all really enjoyed our stay. Staff were superb. Food was beautiful & the children enjoyed the swimming pool although I don't think some of the other swimmers enjoyed children interrupting their length swimming! The room was a little small and storage was not quite enough for a family of 4 but honestly, I loved this hotel & we are definitely going back.

Good hotel, and convenient to the motorway

Posted 15-Sep-2014
Pros: Ease of access from the motorway, but still very quiet and comfortable
A last minute reservation on a room only basis. Easy to find and easy access to the North Lakes area of the Lake District.

Very good

This was an impromptu stay for a family crisis but in the end we would consider staying for a visit to the lakes

Easy to find and everything under one roof.

Posted 08-Sep-2014
Pros: The position, offered a real restful break without going miles out of your way.
Cons: The room doors really need to be looked at so they don't have such a strong closing mechanism That they slam shut!! Was really bad.
Location: All we needed was there did not go out.
Comfortable, rooms spacious, contain all things needed when taking a break on a journey! Food good though not a wow factor! Staff excellent, attentive but not overly. Sadly the noise of banging doors spoilt our rest! There was a constant banging one after another! None of them close quietly,, they slam! A very handy hotel for breaking your journey.

Relaxing ambience perfect for a break

Posted 08-Sep-2014
Pros: Everything
Cons: Pillows but I'm very fussy anyway
Location: Penrith was very good, plenty to see and do, and the Lake District speaks for itself anyway, words don't do it justice when you can find them
Enjoyed the whole visit, nothing too much trouble. Very pleasant staff and cleanliness second to none. The hotel and staff will make sure you enjoy yourself whatever your reason for staying. Complimentary items of high quality also which was a nice surprise. Would recommend to anyone, families couples or groups wanting to relax

So close to motorway.

Posted 04-Aug-2014
Pros: The staff and the food were all great.
It was an unknown quantity when I booked but turned out trumps. The external view could be rather off-putting but the inside proved to be quite the opposite and was lovely.

Great travellers rest at the end of the Lakes.

After a 50 mile weekend hike through the lakes, this was an extremely welcome pit stop, before travelling back from Penrith station to London. The jacuzzi and steam bath were a real tonic. The service was great in the restaurant, and the food was fantastic, great local produce.
