Hidden away, a fabulous find!

We visited as a family of 6 and had a lovely relaxing break. Will definitely go back. Staff could not have been nicer. The clock tower is beautiful. Food was fab. It is remote, but that was the plan.

Historic guest house with pleasant staff nice food

Lovely experience but a bit spooky staying in the clocktower. Staff were nice and rooms were very clean, quiet and comfortable. Would definitely recommend this accommodation.

Long weekend in a lovely hotel

Posted 28-Apr-2014
Pros: The grounds, the restaurant, the rooms, the staff, all were really excellent.
Cons: Nothing, it is a lovely place to stay.
Location: It is in the middle of the country, as befits a country house hotel, so the main towns are some distance away, but there is plenty to do in the area.
The hotel is wonderful, the rooms are large and well designed, the grounds are huge and the location is quiet, which is exactly what I wanted. The restaurant is first class, with mostly local sourced produce, the steaks are exceptional. The staff are very helpful and friendly and I will definitely stay here again.

Great Staff and Lovely Hotel

Posted 14-Apr-2014
Pros: Very relaxing stay.
Really nice hotel. Very friendly and obliging staff. Meals were beatiful. Bar reasonably priced. Beds that are massive and comfy. Only down side is that it's location is some what remote from the lakes.

Nice friendly welcoming hotel

Pros: Nice food. Beautiful old castle style building set in lovely peaceful countryside.
Cons: A softer bed would have been lovely but it was ok.
Location: Beautiful Lakeland scenery with nice gift shops and attractions nearby
Welcoming both guests and their animals. Lovely setting.

Great stay. Out if the way b&b in beautiful area. You will need a car to get around and get to the b&b. Not many amenities in the area, but wonderful countryside for hikes!
