Nice hotel, good staff

Posted 13-May-2015
Pros: Staff and food
Cons: Not a lot
The room we were in 14, was straight above the reception and a little noisy, but when you add up the price to the location, the hotel was great, yes there were minor things, however when that is compared to the cost it was great value, good hotel at a good price

Tranquility

Posted 29-Apr-2015
Pros: It's location and staff. It's food and the accommodation
Cons: Great as it was!
Location: Remote, nearest pub 1 mile away. Lots of walks though and stunning views.
Staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The room was comfortable and wonderfully quiet. excellent food and beautiful surroundings. Very remote, so no good if you are wanting to have a village life experience, but brilliant for de stressing and enjoying the peace and quiet. breakfast was included in the price and there was a large choice. Driving to its location can be a bit hair raising if your not used to very narrow roads, with sharp inclines and decentes, but as I said it is in a very remote area. Coniston lake is a bit of a drive away but well worth it

Good hotel, quiet location

Posted 04-Apr-2015
Pros: Quiet location away from the mass crowds of the Lake District. Clean and comfortable
Cons: The restaurant evening meals could have been better especially the 'specials' which could be rather basic. Nearby pub had better choice and quality.
Location: Walking in the western fells and the location was only 20 minutes from Scafell Pike and Great Gable and other hills and excellent for walking nearby.
We had a good time, the staff were friendly and especially helpful when we asked about local walks and things to do on wet days. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the food was OK but we felt could have been improved.

Great impressive hotel

Posted 04-Apr-2015
Perfect stay. Slight problem with needing a twin rather than double (15 y/o son would have none of that!) sorted very quickly. Great rooms and amazing bathrooms. Excellent selection at breakfast and location spot on for lower lakes and mountains. Will definitely be back

We enjoyed our stay be it only one night. The welcome was excellent as was the room facilities. My only disappointment was at Breakfast time as the staff we not as cheerful. We also could not have a full breakfast as the staff told us they had gas problems. Although this disappointment would not stop me booking again it took the shine off our stay.

Lovely place lovely people

Turned up at irton hall and the first thing that struck us was how beautiful the building and the landscapes were. We were welcomed by Tom upon our arrival. Who showed us to our massive, gorgeous family room. We ate there at night, food was gorgeous, as was the breakfast. Lovely stay. couldn't recommend enough. well done guys.

A lovely place to visit

Posted 17-Feb-2015 on Hotels.com
The food was lovely and neither drink or food was over priced. The location was a little out of the way for me and would probably never find it again as it took us nearly 4hrs to find the place from blackpool. Staff couldn't have been nicer in all was a lovely stay.
