“Value for Money”

We stayed here recently. Unlike some other reviewers we found it first time. It's in an odd location - an industrial estate ! However, it is so screened off from the surrounding properties you'd never know. The bar and food are a bit pricey compared to what you pay in the centre of Olbia. Having said that, it's a relatively cheap place to stay for a 4 star resort in north eastern Sardinia.

“Good for short stay”

We stayed here for 2 nights without car and it was fine. Any longer stays would definitely need a car as it is quite isolated. Breakfast was excellent, evening meals not very much choice if you didn't eat in the a la carte restaurant. As we had a young child we resorted to bar food which was quite unpleasant! Also the drinks are extremely expensive so if you can buy water at the supermarket it will save you lots of euros! Overall a good quality hotel with a nice pool.

“Would recommend!”

Came here for a 10 day break! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The hotel was set in beautiful grounds (even though it was edge of an industrial estate!)and we enjoyed relaxing by the pool and eating an enormous breakfast! The hotel was easy to find following Expedia's directions. We certainly returned refreshed and relaxed!

“good hotel with some minor yet visible shortcomings”

Nice hotel, spacious rooms rooms. Service OK. In the restaurant I had to put aside three plates before finding a clean one. Be aware that road indications to the hotel are badly placed - if you come from Olbia drive slowly, otherwise you will miss it. Inquire about your way out to the town. It is complicated too! Underground parking very dangerous - no indications as to where you should go. Both driwes are too narrow for two cars.

“"would go back again"”

Whilst the location made us a little apprehensive (an industrial area), it was completely forgotten on arrival as the hotel is surrounded by woodland and trees and could be anywhere. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the hotel was spacious from the foyer to the bedrooms. Our bedroom was large with a huge bed, settee, table and chairs, television(limited channels) and a mini bar which you could use for your own drinks. The bathroom had a bath with shower, shower room, separate toilet and twin wash hand basins. The pool was large with a swim up bar and eating area. Sun loungers were comfortable with mattressess and in the main daytime were plentiful, however, around 4pm when the beach people(most seemed to head there in the day) returned they became sparse. The hotel offers a shuttle bus to and from the beach. Car parking was underground with plenty space and lift access to the reception. Breakfast was buffet style and very good from continental to full English

“Bad Location”

It was a very nice hotel, but the location lost it for us. There is nothing located close by and a car is necessary to go anywhere. The car park was horrendous and very scary to park in. The breakfast is good, but other food is not great and extremely expensive. It would have been great in a different location with a decent car park. They need to let guests know how much their food and drink costs at the restaraunt as we were blown away when we got the bill.

“watch out for some extras”

The Fitness centre is not free, it's 5 Euro's per visit. It is great though and I got in there as often as possible. The Outdoor pool is lovely, but not heated. Like, it's really cold. The indoor pool is not free and closes quite a bit. The Bar at the pool is poorly stocked and outrageously expensive. 5 euros for a diet coke? you have to be kidding. 5 euros for some horrendous biscuit covered ice cream...not funny. The Car park is really not much fun. I really do consider myself a top driver but the blur of red and white in all three mirrors was enough to make me stop and get out at least once. I'd hate to see that in the high season. There is a lovely pizzeria near the fitness centre which is far more reasonable and again,. the food and service are superb. The Hotel and staff are really great though and were very helpful at all times, could not fault it. The rooms are also superb and well looked after. Leave the mini bar well alone...buy your own water and drinks at a supermarket. A car is absolutley essential in my opinion (apart from the Car Park!) Local drivers are quite interesting but no worse than anywhere else in Europe/UK, but it gives you access to some of the most beautiful beaches and views I've seen ever. Without doubt I'd go again if I wanted a relaxing break, but I very much hope that the GBP/EUR Excahange rate goes back to it's 2005 levels and quickly!

“Welcome to the Italian Fawlty Towers”

This place is incredibly difficult to find so if you fancy driving in circles around the industrial zone and commercial port you're in for a treat. When you do manage to find it I hope you've practiced you are 10 point turns because if you have a car you'll have to park it in the area the size of an office desk. Paintwork from cars adorn awkwardly positioned pillars and walls. After all that frustration of finding the place and parking the car I was ready a lie down. Arriving at 2.30 in the afternoon you'd expect your room to be ready but oh no. Don't know whether the reception staff were ignorant or arrogant but they made me feel more welcome than George Bush at Saddam Hussein's wake. It was finally 3.30 by the time my room was ready and I was asked to wait a minute for someone to help me with my luggage. A full 15 minutes passed, I gave up waiting and I lugged my 20kg bag 500m up a hill behind the pool. The breakfast buffet is a free for all. Cutlery is as rare as a solar eclipse. Asking for a cup of coffee is akin to insulting their mother. Pool towels are at a premium so I recommend a 5.30am start. Complaints about the rooms TV fell on deaf ears. Customer service is certainly a development point for the folks at Melia. However, I cannot blame them. A leading travel guide book describes Olbia as a cesspit marsh that has been drained and plonked beside an airport with a dash of tourism for good measure. No wonder everyone working there was so miserable.
